I don't know about everyone else, but I am still basking in the Ravens victory. That being said as a die-hard fan it is my duty to speculate on what is going to happen during the off-season. Obviously this is just my opinion and let me know your thoughts on the matter, but I believe the Ravens are going to go through a 2011 off season type move. I think we're going to cut Quan, unless we can restructure his contract, not sign Reed, unless he takes less than what he can get on the market, and sign Ellerbe, Pitta, and Dickson and probably lose Kruger and Williams in FA. I reference this too 2011 when we cut Heap, Mason, Gregg, and McGahee and didn't bring back L. McClain, many of the prominent faces of the team at the time.
This being said I wasn't very worried then and I'm not very worried now. Omar Brown is a guy who I believe can do good things replacing Reed, Streeter and Doss are very exciting possible replacements for Q, and I have been impressed with Chykie and Corey at CB. Plus with Webb coming back, Smith getting healthy I think we're actually more deep than people believe. I really don't see us cutting Leach (or maybe I'm just really hoping we don't) I think the team see's him as a big reason for the success of Rice and BP. I do my research for the draft, but it's too early for me to comment on that, all I know is that we have some of if not the best guys in the war room come draft day and I have faith that they will put the team in a good position to keep competing for years to come. In Ozzie we trust right?
With Ray Lewis Retiring and potential many guys who were the face of the franchise possibly leaving, we're not going to be the same team who won the Superbowl this year. But it's just like the team has said, next guy up. I would love to see Anquan, Reed and everyone resign, but I'm thinking realistically and they way things have gone in past off seasons, it wouldn't surprise me if some of these moves came true, it is a business after all. Let me know what you guys think and if you agree or disagree. Go Ravens!
