As we all know, the Raven's running game has been absolutely abysmal this year. While most people, including myself, contribute this to the lack of talent at some positions on the line (Center/LT) and the new zone blocking scheme, I personally think that Ray Rice has not looked like his typical dynamic self as well. It's well known that running backs have the shortest shelf lives and prime windows for their career of pretty much any position in the NFL which brings me to my point. Is Ray Rice still worth his contract going forward after this year?
With all the holes that seemingly need to be filled and the fact that you can get serviceable backs in the draft/free agency for much cheaper, should Rice be on the team next season? I for one would actually prefer to see Rice traded for a second or third round pick this off-season or at least see him restructure his contract.
What are your thoughts? Trade for picks, ask to restructure, or nothing? Those who know his cap hits for the next few years feel free to leave it in the comments.
