Asa Jackson eligible to return from suspension, Kelechi Osemele to injured reserve

Asa Jackson will return to the Ravens' roster this week. - USA TODAY Sports

It's an easy roster move for the Baltimore coaches to make given the circumstances at the moment.

When it was announced that cornerback Asa Jackson would serve an eight-game suspension, there was some thought that there might not be a roster spot for him when it came time to activate him.

As it worked out for Jackson, left guard Kelechi Osemele has been dealing with a season-long back injury. Osemele will move to injured reserve and Jackson will be activated into his spot, coach John Harbaugh announced during his Monday press conference.

Jackson will be a special teams contributor on the roster but could wind up being the first one to go if the Ravens feel the need to make another roster move. The other 52 guys, excluding Bernard Scott for the time being, on the team have proved they belong at this moment. Jackson hasn't yet.

The Ravens get a one-week roster exemption so it's not set in stone Jackson stays with the team.

He'll need to show the coaching staff that keeping him on is the right decision at this time if he's to stay on for the remainder of the season.
