Just Kicking an Idea Around...

Is Ozzie Newsome, for the first time as a GM, in "Win Now" mode?

We've seen, for the first time ever, that he has made a mid-season trade with multiple mid/high round draft picks, and he is now apparently willing to pay big time for a player on the level of a Hakeem Nicks or Josh Gordon! This does not sound like the Ozzie Newsome most of us are familiar with. I still believe in the motto "In Oz We Trust," but I do think we're seeing a fundamental change in his philosophy here.

We know Ozzie's time is drawing to a close here. Is he afraid to leave with 2012 being his last ring? Obviously this is all just speculation, but I'm interested to hear some different takes on why Ozzie is being so uncharacteristically active midseason when we've never seen him do this before.

The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!
