AFC North update: Bengals take over in first place

Losses to the Ravens and Browns put them behind the Bengals, which defeated Buffalo on Sunday.

Losing to Green Bay has temporarily put the Ravens back a game in the race for the AFC North.

Obviously, it's still early and the Ravens remain in a good position for the division title race. Given that the Ravens still get to play the Bengals twice certainly helps matters too.

Here's a look at the standings after Sunday's games:

AFC North Standings

W L T PF PA
Cincinnati 4 2 0 121 111
Baltimore 3 3 0 134 129
Cleveland 3 3 0 118 125
Pittsburgh 1 4 0 88 116

The Bengals were able to move atop the rankings with an overtime win over the Bills — yes the same Bills that Baltimore lost to, but with Thad Lewis starting at quarterback instead of E.J. Manuel, who's currently injured.

The Browns were beaten pretty badly by the Lions, with Matthew Stafford tossing four touchdowns (three to tight end Joseph Fauria) over their highly regarded secondary.

The Steelers notched a win for the first time this season, with a 19-6 win over the Jets.

Up next for the Bengals are the pesky Lions that gave the Browns a beating. The Browns get to travel to Green Bay this Sunday and the Steelers — well, you guys know.
