The PASSING OF THE TORCH IN THE AFC NORTH

Stay connected for news and updates

So here we are again, playoff time. This is our fifth strait year in the playoffs as all ravens fans know, yet the last 3 years things just haven't felt the same.

We have all seen and felt it, some of us have even remarked on it, ( usually to antagonize a fan of our rivals), but i wonder how many of us know just how CLEAR this changing of the guard is. Ok, let me get it out of the way. The Pittsburgh Steelers are no longer the top franchise in the north, and havent been for a few years. The facts support it, so NO thi s isnt just a jab. Just look at the facts. Scince their sb loss to The packers, the steelers havent won a single playoff game, and this year BARELY managed to make it to .500. Meanwhile our ravens have won atleast won atleast a playoff game each year, and the Cincinatti Bengals have made it to the playoffs two years in a row. Now ill be the first to admit that the steelers have a proud history of staying in the mix, but with a host of grossly overpaid older players who are clearly on the decline tying up cap room, you GOTTA wonder if they wont stay down for awhile, meanwhile our ravens and even the bengals seem to have bright futures with some of their young talent and other players in their prime.

broncos, GO RAVENS!!.

So even though im sure this will be taken as a shot, its truly not. Its a simple observation. With the steelers losing in the first round last year, and missing altogether this year, combined with all of their cap issues, any fool can see that the north is probably gonna have a new look for the next few years. I for one LOVE IT. Now lets get those
