To be a little bit fair to Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation, he does rank the Ravens tight ends in the top half of the NFL's 32 teams. However, according to most Ravens fans, the pair of third-year players Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta deserve to be ranked a lot higher than many of the eleven teams ahead of them.
There is no question the New England Patriots pair of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez are easily the top ranked pair of tight ends in the NFL, but not too many other teams have two guys who combined put up the numbers that Dickson and Pitta do. Yes, it's hard to argue with New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham and San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis, but other than them it's ard to find too many Baltimore fans who would put any other team's tight ends ahead of theirs.
Here's what they said about the Ravens pair:
"Baltimore ran a fair number of two-tight end sets last season with a pairing of Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta. The latter is the better of the two, giving the Ravens a little more athleticism from the position and possesses better hands."
