Now that the list of the NFL Top 100 Players of 2012 is done and Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers sits atop the player's poll, perhaps it's a good time to let the real experts take a shot at it, or at least the Top Ten. The good folks over at SB Nation took a mulligan on the ten best, ranking them in their own order from one through ten and you'll be surprised which player on the Baltimore Ravens made the list and which one did not.

Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was #9 on the NFL's list but just barely missed the cut on SB Nation's, although he did garner Honorable Mention status. Despite undergoing Achilles Tendon surgery and a risk to miss most if not all of the 2012 season, outside linebacker Terrell Suggs snuck into the Top Ten at #8.

Winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for 2011 is a huge deal and while Sizzle only came in 11th on the NFL's ranking, only New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis and Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen trumped him on SB Nation's list. With four players getting named on the "also-ran's" list along with Ngata, it's still nice to see two Ravens in what can be called the unofficial Top 14 best players of 2012.
