Hello Baltimore Beatdown. Today am I writing to you to ask for your help, if not just a piece of your time. Please take a few minutes out of your day to read this article.
There is a 9-year old boy in my community by the name of Gavin Jones who has a brain tumor and is bedridden the majority of the time. I found out about this child today in my Biology class. My teacher showed us this group-email she received from Gavin's mom, Renay.
As you all know my son has a brain tumor and is pretty much confined to bed mostly all of the time. I try to find things that will help pass the time...this can be hard as he is limited in what he can do. So I was thinking what kind of Guinness World Record could we break while here at home..I looked into the Most Get Well Cards received and that is at something like 30 million!! But he does enjoy receiving cards of all kinds. It is a treat when the mail comes and I can curl up in the bed with him and open cards. So I am going to take a leap and put my address on here---like you couldn't find it on the internet!! I did see where someone ask people to put a penny in each card they sent so that we can put them in a jar and he can see how many people are praying for him!!! Just a thought but could you take a minute to help make the day of a 9 year old little boy and put a smile on his face....here is our address:
817 River Stone Court
York SC 29745
And if you are really feeling the love of God could you send one to his sister Kennedy just telling her that you know that she is a big help to her family and to Gavin.
I will owe you for this one.
Well there you have it. While it is unclear at this moment how severe Gavin's brain tumor is, I think it would be a nice gesture to show him that he is not alone, and bring a smile to his face. I hope you all can reach within your heart to find the time to make out a card for Gavin and his family. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, a simple "Hi Gavin, I hope you feel better, and I'm keeping you in my prayers." Will suffice. But anything you can to let him know you care would be awesome!
Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a great day. From, your editor, Zachary Beard.
