Ravens Draft Tracker: Ronnell Lewis
Ronnell Lewis #56 Oaklahoma. OLB/DE 6'2" 224lbs
You can never have enough pass rushers. That's what Ozzie Newsome had to say when asked if the Ravens would be bringing in anyone to help Terrell Suggs at rushing the quarterback.
The Ravens do have some young pass rushers that have stepped up this past season. Paul Kruger and Pernell McPhee applied a good amount of pressure in 2011. These two plus Haloti Ngata and Cory Redding combined did manage to help Suggs when he was being double teamed or chipped by a tight end.
Would the Ravens entertain the idea of bringing in another pass rusher with the first pick in the draft? Why not? Their mantra has always been "best player available". So If OLB/DE Ronnell Lewis were to slip to the 29th spot, would the Ravens be interested? We will have to wait to find out.
But here is a little info. on Lewis from soonersports.com:

He is not a DE/OLB
He is a OLB/ILB because he has the athleticism to play all 4 spots in a 3-4 Defensive LB set. He is in no way, shape, or form a DE at the next level

Funny thing is,...
He’s not much bigger than current Ravens safety and bruiser Bernard Pollard!
aka 'Rexx'
would it be totally insane if....
I said I thought Randy Moss might not be the worst idea for the Ravens? Maybe I’ve just got Moss fever cause he’s in the news cycle but I think he’s still got it and that him and Torrey + Q would be pretty awesome.
best tackling team in the NFL, most physical and just dominates people. When we walk out of the tunnel and out of that locker room, we expect to shut people out and play great defense - Ravens DC Chuck Pagano
Love Ronell Lewis. Guy explodes into people and has a nice first step. I think he would be a great fit for our team.
On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."
- Troy Polamalu
We need another young OLB, but I’m curious about Michael McAdoo. The guy is a whopping 6’7" and needs to add a little weight, but with his speed at that height, he could be a matchup nightmare for o-linemen.
lots of potential diamonds on the roster
we don’t even know what we’ve got in kindle. he seems to have so far to go mentally and physically to even get to where mcphee is. he’s certainly no Pierre-Paul, which is what I was hoping for this year, all natural instincts and drive in getting to the passer. would love for us to pick up another rusher but I still hope mcadoo n esp kindle r worth waiting on. could see either or both getting cut if we find another mcphee in this draft
