Ravens To Host Texans In Divisional Playoffs
Although the Houston Texans are probably still celebrating their 31-10 beatdown of the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card round playoff game yesterday afternoon, the Baltimore Ravens are already hard at work putting together a gameplan for their upcoming Divisional Round playoff game next Sunday at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. The Texans did the exact same thing to the Bengals that the Ravens did last week, which is run the ball down the throats of Cincinnati's defense.
Houston will have a tougher time next weekend, just like they did when the Ravens defeated the Texans in Baltimore's week six 29-14 victory. Texans RB Arian Foster was limited to 49 rushing yards on 15 attempts while on the other side, Ravens RB Ray Rice broke the century mark with 101 yards on 23 carries.
Joe Flacco was the hero of the day, throwing for 305 yards, with two long passes of over 50 yards to Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith. Boldin should be healthy off of this full week of rest to be ready for the game and the Ravens already have been listed as a nine-point favorite over the visiting Texans.

I'd just like to point out that
we were not fully healthy when we played the Texans the first time around as well. We didn’t have Ben Grubbs, Lee Evans, or Jimmy Smith playing in that game and we still managed to win by 15 points. Yes, Andre Johnson will be playing, but so will T.J. Yates and not Matt Schuab. I love our chances.
Also, we beat the Texans after our first bye...
looks like we’re going to do it after our second bye as well!
He’s at least a speedy body that someone needs to cover… but yeah, he’s been disappointing (with J. Smith picking up that slack).
He'll serve as a decoy at the very least
Grubbs and J. Smith are more important though. Flacco got hit and hurried a lot in the last Texans game. Grubbs will help a bunch.
also that last game couldve been a serious blowout!
i believe we forced two fumbles that game that our defenders just couldnt seem to jump on, one resulting in a free touchdown for the Texans. and we had five, maybe even six redzone trips that game but were only able to come up with two touchdowns. great teams dont forget those kind of opportunities and id like to think we’re a great team who will make up for those errors tis time around.

Best case scenario for Ravens
and we will gladly go beat Pats in NE if that’s the ticket!

Remember, the Texans led in the 3rd quarter of that loss. It wasn’t a blowout, and the Texans D is more focused now than it was at the time. After all, Houston’s 7-game winning streak immediately ensued after the loss to the Ravens.
And don’t pay attention to the last three games of the regular season, either. The Texans were literally just trying to make it to the playoffs with a full roster. This should be a good game.
Houston also won the turnover battle 2 to 0. It’s kind of amazing how many people still overlook the league’s #2 yards-against and turnover margin defense.

we lost to some dude named “Blane Gabbert” this season… that really did happen…
But not at M&T.

all BS aside...
TJ Yates has more than proved that he can manage a game. Our defense has more than proved they can hold an O line and make plays and our offense is obviously up to the challenge. i listened to the bengals fans talk smack ALLLL week last week and its gonna be the same this week. the texans will never be taken seriously untill we have a season where we go undefeated, win a superbowl and sacrifice a baby lamb on the 50 yard line of every stadium in the NFL! having said that, i dont know whats gonna happen this week and im pretty sure yalls crystal balls work just as good as mine… just remember, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN…see ya sunday!

As Long
As y’all don’t bring any lambs to M&T on Sunday, I think we’ll be cool.
Now goat sacrifices OTOH…

than anything I’ve seen before.

Hey, sounds like what Flacco needs to do to get the respect he deserves!

If we get the lead with our crowd it will be a very tough road for the Texans. Our D is funny how they become a super force with a lead…..and then usually hang on by their finger tips to end it out : ) Pagano needs to ride these guys kick to whistle. I am curious to see if JSmith has shed the butterflies and is ready for the game of his life. I would say, he has.
It should be Jimmy Smith and Webb.

Nine Points?
Seems like a bit much. I thought it would be around six and half. Ravens should win, but the Texans could very easily cover the nine. Johnson is just too much of an X-factor, even with TJ throwing to him.

I Thought I Read
That Bruce (or someone else) wrote the early line was Ravens minus nine… I could have misread…

Is somewhat correct, that means Vegas is predicting around a 24 – 14 Ravens win…

Take a look back at how rookie QBs have fared at M&T Bank Stadium this decade. I’m guessing the mean QB rating is in the mid 50s; just a guess. Even in the loss to Jacksonville, Gabbert looked hapless. Rookie QBs don’t win at M&T.

As a Texan fan, I'd give the points.
I think the chances of us losing by 9 is higher than the chances of us winning.
To win we’ll have to get some big plays and win the turnover battle. I’m excited as hell to see if we can do it. After all, to be the best you have to beat the best. We just need a win here to have beaten the whole AFC North this year.
I’LL TAKE THE TEXANS PLUS 9. IT WILL BE A CLOSE GAME WITH THES TWO DEFENSES AND WITH A.J. PLAYING WILL RESULT AS A WIN FOR THE TEXANS. TEXANS 24 RAVENS 17

Nice to be loyal to your team, but that ain’t happening and truthfully, you know that to be true.

Agreed. That being said...
With Schuab and Mario Williams back, the Texans will be beastly next year.
AJ's injury was the most costly.
He brings a whole new dimension to the offense.
ill say it again...

Whats going on Raven fans, Houston Texan fan here.
I have nothing to really say about that last game we played, simply that it is in the past. This is a new year and anything can happen on any given day. {Like The broncos in the playoffs with Tebow} see what i am getting at? So i know there will be more texan fans coming over doing the week to chat it up with you guys, and it will be a good game trust me.
Hi. You’re right. Anything can happen. I am just happy to attend an NFL playoff game with my Ravens. Every time you enter the stadium during the playoffs you’re witnessing history. Baltimore during the playoffs is a magic place. Small town feel and everyone is a Ravens fan. No divides. From super market cashiers to bank tellers, everyone has on purple. We tight like that with the Ravens. Hell, we might even let Cam Cameron wear purple this week.
Hey and i heard o Cam was down in Houston yesterday.
Did he already know we were coming there or what? I am glad your city is tight like that, that is one thing i can say there are alot of people in houston either going for Dallas or saints, but that is just a few people otherwise then that we ride with the texans.
Do yourself a favor, get a SW flight for $149 and come join the party. The tailgate is 1/2 the fun. There are many safe hotels within walking distance. Great time. No kidding.
haha. yeah, easier said than done. im still trying to get to Pitt for a Ravens match-up after all these years. the only other stadium i have ever been to is the old RFK for a Montana vs.Shroeder match-up as a little kid. Shroeder won 10-7. Dexter Manley is still an unsung DE.
ask dr del
Next season of course

You need to see an infectious disease specialist.
You are exhibiting symptoms of “KC Syndrome.”

I’m getting that feeling as well. I actually have a lot of respect for the texans and Foster is one of my favorite players to watch, but there’s an extreme overconfidence coming from Texans fans. I know they say they didn’t have Andre last time, but they also had Schaub. Schaub is far and away better than Yates. Also Andre’s 40 yard TD came from a broken play which was huge. He will get some catches because of how great he is, but I don’t think Yates has the arm to beat us. He threw some ducks and some balls that should have been easily intercepted. I just don’t think he has the arm to beat us and for the Texans to win Yates will have to make plays to beat us.

I’m not one of the overconfident Texan fans, but that play came from a broken ankle, not a broken play. The safety was a little late, but ’Dre’s double move was filthy.
Actually re watching the play you are right. I only saw it live and he looked wide open, but yes that was a good double move.
