He should’ve at least said yes to CHI and then backed out. It would’ve been the right thing to do considering.

Better yet...
Take the CHI job and trade us their 4th round pick for $2.00. Then quit.

In Ozzie We Trust
will always be my mantra, but the day will come when it will become In Eric We Trust. Great young executive, and hopefully when Ozzie decides to put an end to his 2nd Hall of Fame career, we don’t miss a beat with Eric waiting in the wings.
Like everyone else mentioned this is really big. With Decosta I don’t think we miss a beat after Ozzie is done, but unfortunately this is something we will probably have to go through every off-season until that happens.
On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."

Nothings Changed
Yup
I’m pretty sure they have let him know the job is his when Oz retires, and he wants to be here bad enough that hes willing to wait.

I wonder what this foreshadows?
Ozzie turns 56 in March, so it’s not like he is nearing retirement age, but DeCosta is sticking around – for what? Does this foreshadow something happening in the near future? Ozzie is often linked to the next AD position at Alabama. Mal Moore (their current AD) just turned 72. So here’s a scenario for you.
Alabama beat LSU to claim their 9th National Championship during his career at ‘Bama. Moore retires, going out on top.
Ravens win their 2nd Super Bowl under Ozzie. Ozzie and his Ray Lewis (his first Raven year draft pick) retire together, going out on top.
Ozzie is named ‘Bama AD.
DeCosta is named Ravens GM.

… (his first Raven year draft pick) …
Ogden was picked fourth in the 1996 draft. Lewis was the 26th pick.

That's why I said
first Raven year draft pick and not Ravens first pick. Both Lewis and Ogden were first Raven year draft picks. :)
