Ravens Exec Eric DeCosta Courted For GM Openings
Baltimore Ravens Director of Player Personnel Eric DeCosta is a hot commodity on the open market for a few of the General Manager openings around the NFL. Pegged as the eventual successor to Ravens current GM Ozzie Newsome, DeCosta has proved himself to be a shrewd evaluator of college talent as well as determining which veteran free agents would be a good fit with the team.
The Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts openings would seem to be the most likely landing spots if DeCosta decides to make his move rather than waiting for Newsome to retire and take over the position here in Baltimore. DeCosta's wife is fro this area and his children are firmly entrenched in schools, which should help complicate the decision from a Ravens perspective.
Hopefully, DeCosta will ultimately decide to remain with the organization that has given him the opportunity to shine after his predecessors left for greener pastures but failed after leaving the friendly confines of the Baltimore Ravens superbly run organization. His chance will come at some point and he could find a better owner in the entire league under Steve Bisciotti.

DeCosta is being groomed as Ozzie's replacement and a GM is every bit as important as a good head coach.
We should do whatever it takes to keep him. I’d give him a pay raise and maybe a written promise for the GM Position after Newsome retires.
Agreed
Our fans support virtually every single move Ozzie makes and that cannot be stated enough. There are too many organizations in the league that are plagued by bad GM’s that don’t allow their teams to progress. Hopefully DeCosta realizes that and stays with this fantastic organization!
