You'll Have to Be Crazy to Sit Ed Reed and Ray Lewis Down
Ed Reed and Ray Lewis proved that they can be difference makers yesterday in the win over the Texans. I take that back. These two players have nothing to prove at all. Mike Preston suggested that it may be time to consider benching these guys in one of his recent past articles for the Baltimore Sun. Here is my take on it:
Benching these two players right now would be like benching Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in the 4th quarter of a Chicago Bulls Championship game. It would be totally asinine.
As far at the Texans game, the secondary was outstanding. Getting 3 ints with little pressure on the quarterback was impressive. Both defensive and offensive lines will need to play much better against the Patriots however.

the idea of benching either of these guys is completely laughable. It’s laugh-you-out-of-the-room stupid.

Preston knew what he was doing
and everyone bit on it. He was trying to draw attention to himself for such a crazy idea and everybody gave him the traffic and mentions that just made his day. If they had just ignored the silly comments, he’d have to think of something else to raise our BP’s.

La canfora tweeted that anybody who thought Ed Reed should sit is a moron lol

LaCanfora is a pretty good reporter IMO
Always sounds pretty fair to me.

Ed blew 2 easy INT’s, made an easy INT look like a dazzling play (how about 2 hands on the ball hot-dog) and then blew out his ankle taking a crap angle on a hail mary. i could have got under those moon balls. not a great game outside of the tackle on foster in the backfield. a good game though. hes the best we have. great player all time.
I agree
but for a guy who is playing hurt, the one he did catch was pretty spectacular especially since it was at the time we needed it most. I feel much more confortable with him and Webb back there going against Brady. His prescence will at least give Brady something to think about.

I can live with a guy dropping 2 of his 3 INT opportunities if he doesn’t allow a completion all game long and makes big tackles.
