OH NO…not Dierdorf. lol. man, that dude can’t see. he is over the top agreeable to his first thought no matter how many replays show otherwise. not to mention his constant scolding of players for not playing like it’s 1945.
I took this from ESPN
And although T.J. Yates is a concern against a defense as good as Baltimore’s, Joe Flacco isn’t a guaranteed good performer in a big setting. In seven playoff games, he’s hit on only 53.3 percent of his passes, he’s thrown four touchdowns and seven picks, and he’s had a 61.6 passer rating.
Im predicting a sack fumble AND maybe a pick as well. BULLS ON PARADE!!
Not to ‘piss on your parade’, but one thing those stats don’t take into account is that they were all playoff games on the road. Flacco at home is a much different story. And as for saying Flacco is unable to play well in a big setting, I’ll refer you to a 90yd game winning TD against the Steelers in Pittsburgh this year. By far the biggest clutch moment of the year (unless you take your Tebow blinders off)

hard to respond to the Texan. i guess going on the road to Pitt twice in the playoffs as a young man without more than 1 established receiver and an old beat up Heap tends to put you near the 50% comp. rate. The difference this year (if Cam can speed it up and spread it around without having his ass pucker into a Rice Rice game) are a couple of TE’s named Pita and Dickson followed up by an actual deep threat in Torrey balanced by a Lee Evans to keep you honest. Backfield now has a Ricky Williams to spell the ultra dangerous Rice. Boldin will be Boldin. Let’s see, oh yeah, road grader Vonte will take his toll.
Holy shit.
Who are you?

The texans have a chance … Their fans are stoked after the first winning season and playoff berth in franchise history… I applaud them and appreciate their exuberance even if i think their disrespect of the Ravens and Flacco is a rookie mistake.. they’ve never been this far so they don’t know any better. Which is ok when you compare them to bandwagon yinzer fans whose team makes the playoffs often yet fans still don’t know how to act

I keep thinking of the Thanksgiving game
against the 49ers. 9 sacks on Smith. Nine. I think Suggs will record 3 himself against Yates. Will Joe feel pressure from the Texans blitz packages? Will they sack him? Yes, probably. But not nearly as bad as what the Ravens D will do to Yates IMO. They’ll be like sharks at a feeding frenzy.
You like Thai? Tie good. You like shirt?
I’ll be watching the Texans-Bengals game tonight. I’m interested to see what kind of discipline their D line has. The few plays I’ve seen so far they tend to leave some pretty sizeable gaps on pure run downs. I think we can open them up pretty good. Rice got 100 on them last time and 60 receiving. We will have space to operate.
Of course our defense in week 6 is a lot different from now.
I think we had just lost Mario so Barwin was in a new position and Brooks Reed was starting for the first time. So that’s a lot of time for them to get better at gap discipline.
Not to mention this is the first year of our defense so it still took some time to get used to the concepts.
.................
We actually are one of the top teams in the league at defending the TE.

Don’t let facts get in the way of rav getting his jabs in on ray or whoever else he chooses… It’s his world

i didn’t mention any ranking of our D vs. TE’s, but I am always worried about Ray in pass coverage. with their very good TE this is the match-up i most worry about. whats the problem? what aspect do you guys feel is the texans best opportunity?
A hurricane postponing the game, giving them another week to gameplan and sacrifice several small animals to Cletus the God of Football.
But in all seriousness, if Foster gets hot, it could keep our D on the field exposing them to fatigue, which would not be good.
by StuckInUtah on Jan 11, 2012 6:42 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
I know I was just stating that while you are worried about that we do a very good job of guarding them. I believe combined we held their TE’s to 2 catches for 13 yards last time if I remember right. the biggest thing is that O line IMO. It’s a very strong group and we have to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. If we do that Arian can’t get going. He doesn’t get up to full speed quickly, but once he gets moving he is very elusive. We got to get to him before he’s able to cut up field.
On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."

arian doesn’t scare me at the line but with reed hurt he will be tough to stop in the secondary if he slips through. but, man, he never looks like he’s moving fast. probably his bulky size makes him deceiving. either or, not too worried about him.
my gut tells me they’re qb is going to get mauled like the 49ers smith. something tells me that kruger, jj and redding will dominate as they go unsung throughout the week.
I hope they do as well. Ideally it would be best if we get up early and force them to put the game in Yates hand more. The pass rush has been electric at home this year and if we create some consistent pressure it could get ugly for Yates.
On Ed Reed:

Ray to official: No, I did not get there early (waves knife… i mean hand). There was no penalty. Put the flag back in your pocket.

We've got the number 2 defense and the best pure non-QB inflated run game in the NFL
You’ve got the number 3 defense and the 10th ranked rushing team. We’ve got AJ coming back from injury. You have Anquan coming back from injury. Our O-line is the best in the NFL. Yours is stellar as well.
Our teams are about as evenly matched as humanly possible. Anyone who expects a victory on either side by more than 3-4 points is a lunatic.
Isn’t the Vegas line Ravens -7.5?
I’m taking Joe Flacco at home over a 5th round rook on the road all effing day.

Vegas Also
Probably cleaned up on that game… I can’t imagine there was much money on the T-bows. Heck, there probably wasn’t even much Denver money on the T-bows…
Which goes to my theory about Houston and Sunday’s line. I have seen 7.5 to 9 (?!?!) This is just begging a sane person to take the Texans. And Vegas knows there is more money in Houston than Baltimore (everything is bigger in Texas, yada yada yada) and by making the Texans such huge ‘dogs, it is almost like setting the hook for all the Houston money. Like Vegas knows something the rest of us don’t. Is Boldin actually better than 100% back from surgery? Is Yates (non-throwing) shoulder worse than we realize? I almost want to do a reverse psychology bet and take the Ravens (minus 9? Are you bat-shite crazy?) and then go a a very very long drive Sunday afternoon…
