23-22 texans

23-22 texans

while the two best D players on the field are ngata and suggs, I believe the texans defense is better AS A WHOLE.

this will be a low scoring game, which will let the texans keep running the football. you wont see kareem jackson 1 on 1 with torrey smith, and if you DO, well we will lose

texans are playing with house money!!!! they will be loose with nothing to lose.

the best player on the field on O or D wears a texan uniform, and his name is Andre Johnson.

You will never understand the impact he makes on the field, in the locker room, and on TJ yates confidence.

Wow. Just wow.

That is powerful Red Kool-Aid you’re drinking. Again, this may be the Ravens first home playoff game since the 2006 season but this is the Texans first road playoff game EVER. The Texans have never beat the Ravens. The Ravens are undefeated at home this season. The Texans starting QB is a rookie with 6 career starts (3-3) and a separated shoulder. I give you a lot of credit for winning the AFC South and making the playoffs but the Texans FIRST foray into the post season ends in Baltimore this Sunday. Foster, Johnson, Daniels, Watt, Cushing. Name all the weapons you want to and it won’t matter. The Ravens will win and win convincingly.

Talk about meaningless

WTF does Oklahoma have to do with Ravens and Texans this Sunday?? I’ll agree that stats are meaningless to a degree. I’m using them in this case to bolster my argument that the Ravens are heavy favorites to win the game and rightfully so. Even level headed football fans with no common rooting interest in either team would agree. You’re just spouting off about Johnson being the best player and other opinionated nonsense.

Such as

Ravens have never lost to a rookie QB at M&T. The only rookie to ever beat them was Jake Plummer in 1997. And of course, Yates is SO much better than Plummer was and this group of Ravens is a piece of cake for a rookie on the road at a stadium where the home team hasn’t lost all season and did not lose to a team with a winning record all season.

Right? Wrong.

It's funny...

How confident that fan base can be in a QB that wouldn’t even be starting if not for a series of unfortunate injuries to the guys in front of him. Let them be confident though. If the Texans lose, it will be almost as enjoyable as the last few days have been with the sudden disappearance of the entire Steelers fanbase.

I admit to being an ass to a certain someone but he deserved it. 37-10. Ha

Look,

You guys deserve to be favored and have earned the right to be so, as well as play at home. I have a TON of respect for every player on that team, even flacco. But to sit here and make it seem that you think flacco is just great? I know you don’t believe that. You take away the dominating defense, no way flacco carries a team like the elite QBs do. Flacco IMO has reached his ceiling. That’s my opinion, and I’m sure lots of people both agree and disagree. I honestly think that Yates might be one of those special players. The drive AT cinci, to clinch the division, was epic.

I think y’all come out a little flat and flacco has a bad game. That’s my opinion.

We scored 7 times last game. Turn a couple FGs into TDs (our team is much healthier than last time) and it could have been a very similar score to that, not to mention Schaub>Yates. Flacco IMO has reached his ceiling.

I think Flacco could become just as good as Rodgers even Ed Reed said so. Flacco has had a down year but he also lost two of his go two guys which I believe was a big blow to him stat wise. I dont think Joe Flacco is a great quarterback but he has the potentials to become a great quarterback but in order for him to get better it starts with the wideouts/tightends to be on the same page with him

by jazz20 on Jan 11, 2012 5:21 PM EST up reply actions

Flacco is an

inconsistent, mediocre QB, comparing him to arguably the best QB in the NFL is insanity. Your fanbase thinks that predicting a Texans win by one point is arrogant, I can’t even imagine a dream world where anyone would believe that Flacco could become an QB on par with Rodgers. I honestly could never imagine someone drinking enough Kool aid to delude themselves that it would even be possible.

Stop saying that we all think that

I never said that and there are plenty of other people on here that are in the same boat. I’m just tired of hearing people compare Joe Flacco to every other QB on the planet. Making this kinds of comparisons are about as subjective as you can get with no way to prove one way or the other without putting every QB into every system available and taking notes. Our fastest WR is a rookie (yet he somehow came through with an extremely successful rookie year). In fact, other than Boldin we have zero pass catcher not named Rice that have more than a year of experience prior to this season. Furthermore, Flacco hasn’t had a consistent receiving corps in over two seasons with all these players coming and going. Wanna know the best part? The Ravens have played 11 games this season against top 10 defenses. So don’t think that this offense hasn’t seen a big bad defense before. After all, they did play the Steelers #1 ranked D twice. btw, I’d love to have Andre Johnson as part of a 1-2 punch with Boldin. And if Andre makes QBs look that good, doesn’t that completely shut down the argument for TJ Yates that was made earlier?

I truly believe he can become just as good as Rodgers or even better.

If Ed Reed saids Flacco can be just as good as Rodgers who has seen elite quarterback most of his career than I believe what he saids. Overall I think Flacco will turn out to be a great quarterback but great quarterbacks have offensive weapons that are on the same page with him consistently.

most of Flacco inconsistency this year were due to drops passes by wideouts or tight ends

by jazz20 on Jan 11, 2012 6:51 PM EST up reply actions

Lets not get too carried away Jazz. Flacco can become a very good QB, but not to Rodgers level. While definitely too early to say, Rodgers is looking like he may go down as one of the all time greats if he keeps this up.

nobody expected Rodgers to play this good until it happened this year.
Flacco can become a very good QB, but not to Rodgers level.

If Ed Reed saids he can be just as good as Rodgers then I believe it. Reed sees Flacco practice every week not only that but he has study elite quarterbacks before and I think he knows what he is talking about.

Flacco may not play up to Rodgers level this year but its no telling how he will turn out next year or four years later.

Rodgers isnt just great because of him self alone but its because he has very good wideouts/tighends to throw to and most of all these are wideouts/tight ends he has grown with most of his career as a starter so far.

I’m still waiting for an argument against him that goes a little further than just “well he’s not Tom Brady.” (btw, I’m glad he’s not Brady. I like my QBs to be a little tougher and less whiny than that)

He regressed in nearly

every measurable way. Honestly, he projects to be comparable to Matt Schaub at best, not an elite QB, but better than average. Of course he could easily fall short of that optimistic projection and end up just being exactly average.

Well If I was Flacco and lost two of my go two guys which are Derrick Mason and Todd Heap then have to work with tightends/wideouts that are mostly in their second year or rookies; I its only natural that I regress in certain areas since chemistry doesn’t happen over night.

Agree. You have to get a feel for what your men are going to do, where they’re going to be and what kind of catches they can make…what blocking they can overcome.

Are these fans really talking so much smack after one winning season and one playoff win against the Bengals?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait,

beating the Bengals is something to be proud of? Hell, we did it twice, and once wasn’t even at home.

You come at the king, you best not miss.

We can say that too—about beating them at home and away. But what I really wanted to do was ask…can I talk smack one day for fifteen minutes? Can that be a bet? :)

I really enjoy a good heckle more than smack. There are definitely some comments that have been made from my camp that I’m not proud of, but that doesn’t represent us all. There’s tons of southern hospitality to be found, promise. Speaking of, would I be safe at the game? Serious question.

Yes you would.

But you would be safer if you were with other Ravens fans and cheered politely. It’s a funny thing, I’m definitely going to go to the Ravens/Texans game next season @ Reliant. Anything to worry about as a visiting fan of the opposing team? I’ve been to Minute Maid paark a few years back and I had a great time BTW.

Honestly, you have NOTHING to worry about. There were a handful of Bengals fans at the game on Saturday and I gave one of them props for coming out to support their team. Don’t get me wrong. You might get the occasional good natured ribbing, but we’re really more interested in having a good time and supporting our team than in bothering you. :) In fact, if you lost, you’d probably have a few drinks bought for you, lol. Minute Maid park is nice and baseball crowds are always a little more laid back too. Did you like the train? I don’t know any ravens fans to go with, but I’d definitely be polite about my cheering. I’d be in your home after all.

You can even hit me up for tailgating if we’re still chatting on the forum. I’m definitely going to Titans and Ravens games.

Well I appreciate the hospitality

This isn’t just pride in our stadium, but any seat is good. I’ve sat in the back row of the corner and still had a great view. However, the walls are made of metal and the sound ricochets off like crazy because the fans get pretty loud (especially in big games). Therefore, I would say take an upper level seat on the sidelines. You can do upper level, lower row 50 yard line for decent pricing. Lower levels can get pretty pricey.

So maybe 633, 634, 635, or 636. That’s visitor sideline.

Thanks again

I’ll start my search in the off season for sure. As for tailgating, I will absolutely take you up on the offer. :) I went to the last game at the old Cowboys stadium in 2008 (Ravens won) and the tailgating scene there was awesome. The food. The beer. Shiner! Hell, I’m ready to go right now.

If You Two

End up getting married, you have to invite all the members of the BB and the BRB to the reception…

"A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring."
"The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug."
"God's whiskers! Your face is as hideous as the demon's in my storybook!"
"I never expected to see the day when girls would get sunburned in the places they do today."
"It's big for a reason."

For Pittsburgh fans, that's Pope, Twain, Rostand, Rogers and Megamind
