Ravens Lead Bengals 17-3: 2nd Half 'Open Thread'

PrintThe Baltimore Ravens lead the Cincinnati Bengals 17-3 at the end of the first half. A ton is riding on the final 30 minutes for both teams. Baltimore's lead is mostly due to Ray Rice's 70 yard TD run on the team's first possession and the Ravens last possession of the half on a nine-yard TD pass from Joe Flacco to Dennis Pitta.
The Ravens have also seen to be getting the benefit of the doubt from the referees, with both penalties, bll spotting and coach's challenges all going the Ravens' way so far. Flacco finishes the first half 9 for 12 for 101 yards and the one TD pass. Ray Rice has 96 yards on 12 carries, with most of them on that 70-yard TD jaunt early in the game.
The Bengals have moved the ball pretty well themselves, but only have a long FG to show for it, missing their only other attempt. However, Baltimore has doubled up Cincinnati on total yardage and has held the Bengals to nly 19 rushing yards. If the Bengals are going to come back and win this game, they will have to do it through the air and if the Ravens can continue applying pressure, get ready to celebrate the AFC North title, a bye next week and then a home playoff game for the first time in four years.

According to Pro Football Talk
The Bengals win the No. 6 seed with a win over Baltimore. The Bengals also get in if the Broncos OR the Raiders lose.
In short, the Bengals are in good shape even if they lose. The Bengals beat Tennessee in Week 9, so they win the head-to-head tiebreak over the Titans.
If three teams tie at 9-7, the Titans would nab the final spot.
If Cincy loses and both Denver and Oakland win, the Titans get in

A lot of the calls are really stupid decisions by CIN players. You can’t grab receivers 5 yards into a route. Stuff like that that’s simple that they’re fucking up. That was a missed PI last series. I’ll give them that.

Pitt ends up in Baltimore for round 2 if both Pitt and Cincy win.
I expect Pitt to beat Tebow Time. Don’t know how Bengals match up with the Jake the Snake Texans.

I actually just started the novels yesterday.
The tv series was amazing. Only a few really noticeable differences from the novel so far. (Direwolves are even more badass in the print version if that is possible)

The first season of the series is really, incredibly, faithful to the first book, although I thought the end of the series was a bit better on screen than in print (Dany/fire).
