Next Beatdown Get-Together?

 Beer-mugs-1600x1200_medium

We are coming up on the Bye Week for the Ravens.  In the past, folks have vowed that there would be more than 48 hours notice for the next happy hour.  So, with that said...

Star-divide

...what say you Bruce?  I know you and some other folks have mentioned the Bye week as the next logical time to get together.  My vote is for someplace maybe South of Baltimore, i.e. Catonsville, Ellicott City or even Columbia.  Heck, I would even be happy for Woodlawn as that is not as far as last time.  I don't mind so much Timonium (like last time) or even Towson as that is where I grew up so I know those areas well.  But the drive home...

Thursday night also seems to be a good night as it does not interfere with the weekend, and most people can handle Friday work days after a late Thursday night...

Just my two cents; any thoughts?  Anybody?

The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

I’m down for it. Don’t know those areas so well, but thats what GPS is for. You got any specific places that are good in any of those areas?

I actually don’t mind the 89 dodge colt. :) I’ll probably be rolling in at the last second to be honest as I’ll probably be in a meeting or something along those lines that day.

Columbia

Champs at Columbia Mall is huge with TV screens everywhere, so we can watch the baseball playoffs and see what good baseball teams are like.

Champs!

That gets my vote!!!

And I think MaLoR lives down in this neck of the woods, doesn’t he? College Park I believe?

I Thought

You moved down here though.

Still kickin’ it in the Big O-Mill?

Nevertheless, hopefully Bruce can pull the trigger on this shin-dig and BB participants will have another opportunity to raise our glasses high.

I’m all in for the Columbia Mall. Its pretty easy to find for anyone that doesn’t know the area. That is the biggest thing for me, is that its easy to find for anyone that is directionally impaired. I think we had a good turnout last time because it was on a well known road in a fairly simple area. Had I given people more time to get together, I think the turnout would have been even better.

Well,

If you all want to use Hightopps again let me know and I’ll set it up!

I'd do that as long as it's not gameday..

I thought we were going to do it for the games on Sunday?

I know y’all are opposed to weekends but that’s the only time I could make it. Obviously it doesn’t hinge on me but I’m just throwing that out there

Hey guys I do appreciate it, but don’t bend over backwards for me. Keep me posted, it could be the kind of thing where I can’t rsvp until a few days prior…

Okay

Bruce, you need to make an executive decision. We have three locations:

1) Champs in Columbia – my vote
2) Hightopps
3) Chaperoning Raven and MaLoR’s date on the Gunpowder… …I’ll pass thank you…

Jackmca brings up a valid point- since no Raven’s game, why not on the weekend? My only concern is that those of us of the “older” set have children of our own, and most weekend’s are taken up by activities around them (in my case, thank goodness for DVR…) So I am actually okay with Saturday evening or even later Sunday afternoon, but Thursday evening would be my choice.

So Bruce, so that folks have plenty of notice, you should probably make an executive decision, the sooner the better. Thanks!

While I'd love to meet jackma and say "thanks"

Sundays are family days (or in my case, cleaning day), so it looks like a Thursday or we can do MNF as an option. Since THAT hasn’t be put out there, I will to see if it gets positive response and then if no definitive majority, I’ll pick between Champs and Hightopps (sorry Gunpowder lovers).

Not Crazy

About Monday Nights because of the work thing. Prefer Thursday at Champs.

If at all possible a Saturday afternoon/evening thing would be nice. Any time during the week is going to cut down a lot on the number of people that can show up due to work and so on. Sunday is my family day as well and I have to imagine quite a few others are in the same boat. Maybe even a Friday night?

This Friday

Happens to be Yom Kippur, so that is going to put the kibosh on some folks.

I would be up for Saturday afternoon/evening.

MaLoR? He is one of their most frequent customers. I think he is now “Titanium” status at CC’s…

What’s going to be: Thursday night at Champs or Hightopps; or Saturday at Champs or Hightopps?

Choose wisely…
