Ravens' Ray Rice Rated #1 Fantasy Player
In the past, it was rare that any offensive player on the Baltimore Ravens was worthy of a top pick in most fantasy football leagues. Then along came Ray Rice and while he was always considered an all-purpose back, the addition of the best blocking fullback (Vonta Leach) in the league even raised his stock going into the 2011 NFL season. As good as he had been, no one really expected him to become perhaps the best all-around back in the league right now after three games.
Over at SB Nation's fantasy sports site, Fake Teams, they now list Rice as the #1 player in fantasy football. They've done some real in-depth analysis and list their Top 200, so a lot of research has gone into this honor for Rice. He is followed, in order of the top five, by Philadelphia eagles RB LeSean McCoy, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson and Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden.
The only other players on the Baltimore Ravens to make Fake Teams' Top 200 were WR Anquan Boldin (#80) and QB Joe Flacco (#106).

Vick went #1 and Rice #2 in one of my leagues….so I had to “settle” for AP.

Not That it is a Fantasy
Stat, but since this thread is about Rice, has anybody noticed how good Ray’s blitz pickup has been this year? I mean, I think I saw him whiff once, but pretty much every other time he just stones the intruding linebacker….

Ha, well he’s back full this week. Though it looks like Tate might get some of the carries to help ease the load on Foster. Plus they just got rid of Slaton (which is insane!), so I hope you have Tate in a reserve role.

lol yeah I’m pretty good at RB though with AP, Mathews and Wells, so he was just a bonus.

Nice pickup then. What I love seeing is a whole league that for some reason refuses to look at the waiver wire. I released Sidney Rice for 2 weeks and no one even looked at him. Then after last week’s 100+ yard performance, I picked him back up as the last on the waiver line.
Makes winning WAY too easy when half the people don’t know what they are doing.

Yeah mine looks at the waiver wire a lot so you have to be ahead. I like to pickup backups for RB’s who have heavy workloads, but get banged up a lot. I picked up kendall hunter and now Gore looks like he may miss this week, so he could be in for a heavy work load.

Yeah
they say he should have a lot of work this week! Good pickup
I’ve dropped any backups for QB, DEF, kicker and I’m thinking of dropping 1 of my TEs, but I can’t seemingly do it. I’d have dropped a few other players, but that stupid can’t cut list is killing me. Half of my team is can’t cut and some of them arent performing well right now.
