Ravens/Rams Friday Injury Report & Game Status
From the Baltimore Ravens detail-oriented Public Relations Department, is the final Injury Report & Game Status for their game at the St. Louis Rams at 4:05pm on Sunday afternoon.
As expected, the Ravens will be without WR Lee Evans (ankle), who apparently will be rested for the next week in order to hopefully be ready for the game a week from Sunday night when the Ravens host the New York Jets in prime time on national TV. Also out for the game are both WR/KR David Reed (shoulder) and rookie CB Jimmy Smith (ankle). Guard Ben Grubbs (toe) and CB Chris Carr (thigh) are listed as questionable and if Grubbs cannot play as expected, recently signed center Andre Gurode appears to be ready to slide over to play left guard for the first time in his NFL career. Listed as probable but expected to play are center Matt Birk (knee), DT Terrence Cody (head) and DE Cory Redding (toe).
For the St. Louis Rams, no one on their roster is listed as out and only WR Danny Amendola (elbow) is listed as doubtful. A slew of players are on the Rams questionalbe list, inluding running backs Steven Jackson (quad) and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams (hamstring).

Should be a cakewalk
but then again, so should last week and we should have been 3-0 going into the Jets game. Now, it’s a crucial statement game for us. A mere win just isn’t good enough for my expectations.

I don’t mean to look pass this game but its going to be a interesting game with Holmes, Burress, and Mason against Webb, Cary, and Carr.

What’s interesting is the overrated QB that will be throwing the ball to them. For God sakes the Cowboys almost took them to overtime, we should be fine.

Your really think this is a win. Why do you feel comfortable with the DB situation and the Rams obviously going to pass? Can Reed really make up that much room? I think the Rams will establish the pass first and run only to keep us honest.
Its all about the pass rush. If Suggs and Ngata can do their thing, they’ll make our DB’s look great.

The Giants DB situation is even worse thn ours
and they still spanked the Rams. St. Louis might have S. Jax back but their WR corp is a lot worse than ours.

While our CB situation is sort of rocky right now, also keep in mind that St Louis has lost 6 DB’s since Training Camp. They are even thinner than we are.

Which means I couldn’t think of a more ideal scenario to throw some balls Torrey’s way, Doss as well.

From NFL.com
2. I keep saying and writing that the Ravens, even with Lee Evans , are a really slow offensive team. Watching them play the Titans, it appears to me when receiver Anquan Boldin is on the field with Evans, as well as two running backs, they are essentially in a two tight end set. Boldin cannot run well, and he needs to be matched up on smaller corners. The Ravens need to limit Boldin’s time on the field in the base offense, or else the team will continue to be slow.

Totally disagree
The ravens need to complement Boldin with a different skill-set receiver, which is what ws done in AZ w/ Fitzgerald.

yeah I agree with Jimmy and Cary shutting down the other teams WR’s, they’ll make anybody rushing the QB look good - Jaz
Huh? Im confused by this...

Boldin is a possession receiver… so is Fitzgerald… so how did AZ compliment him with a different skill set?

I always thought that but at the sametime Larry is 6-3 which probably gives him a advantage in the deep threat department
becuase of his size.

and if Grubbs cannot play as expected, recently signed center Andre Gurode appears to be ready to slide over to play left guard for the first time in his NFL career.
Gurode has nearly 3 full seasons at Guard early in his career. He actually has about 30 times as many games started at Guard than LeVoir ever had.

yeah but Gurode was a right gaurd for those three years and Mark Levoir has experience at the left guard postion I beleive .
I honestly dont know its easy for a right right guard to transition to left guard but I believe the two are totally different

In a interview they said Gurode explained that playing left guard from right guard is like a right handed person writing left handed. It’s not as easy as ppl think.
