Willis McGahee Reflects On His Time With Ravens
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee was signed by the Denver Broncos as a free agent shortly after the NFL Lockout ended. Thanks to Sports Radio Interviews we see that he was recently interviewed by 104.3 The Fan in Denver with The Drive and spoke about his role with the Broncos, his penchant for finding the end zone and his time with the Ravens.
McGahee is fighting to be more than just a goal-line back with the Broncos and while they do have solid veterans like safety Brian Dawkins, he realizes they are not the veteran-loaded team like he was part of in Baltimore. The Broncos also do not have the type of leaders like both Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, but McGahee sees Denver headed "down the right path."

McGahee will always be one of my all-time favorite Ravens.
I’ll never forget December 3, 2007 when he pounded the undefeated Patriots. One of the best performances ever by a Ravens’ RB.
Good luck in Denver, Willis!
Agreed. He was a great pickup. I will never forget that run in Dallas. I hate the cowboys and that was one of my favorite games I have watched. I’m hoping he has a strong year there.

What about
The run in Oakland when he stiff-armed the DB on his way to the 70+ yard TD run?

I hate the broncos, but he’s one bronco i will not cheer against.
he was one of my all time faves too, sucks we had to let him go, hopefully ricky can replace him so its easier to forget about him haha
My favorite was his monster run that was past of whopping put on Dallas and left the Cowboys with a fond memory of Texas Stadium.

How about when he single handedly clinched a playoff spot for us in Oakland?

Or should I say “single stiff-armededly”?

Yea, like a lot of you I’ll miss Willis in Bmore. He’ll always be one of my favorite Ravens. Seemed like he was a great teammate and I’m sure the locker room will miss him too. Even though he knew his role was to back up Rice you never heard a peep of nonsense out of him not getting enough touches, he had a great team first mentality that is hard to find these days across the league. I still think he has enough left to be the primary back on a lot of teams and K. Moreno should def. watch his back as the No. 1 in Denver.
I wish Willis all the best and I’ll miss being able to wear his jersey.

true that. he had every right to complain about playing time and didn’t. i guess a few million bucks and a chance at a longer career will keep you quite.
That is exactly what happened.
McGahee knew he couldn’t be cut until this year because of the huge cap hit, so he got paid like the starter while being back up. Smart dude.

I remember when Rice was a rookie he said how much he respected Willis, because he said something along the lines of “don’t stress, were not here to compete with each other. We both bring something different to the table, we’re teammates”. And he said that despite the fact that he new Lil Ray would eventually take over as the #1. McGahee was a class act, thanks Buffalo.
Now its Evans turn to tear shit up for us until a rookie can step up, just like Willis did.

buffalo keeps giving us the perfect type of player- guys who are good, aren’t huge bank busters and are durable. how they can afford to do that i don’t know. maybe evans didn’t show anything against one the elite d’s last year (us) and they decided to move on. ha ha. they also made a good decision benching flutie in the playoffs after he got the team there. that might be the a-hole move of the decade.
Evans had 3 TD’s against us last year, but agreed. They don’t hit with many draft picks and the ones that they do they are just handing over to us.

yep, i know he had 3 against us…sarcasm for B-lo. when you try to hit home runs in the draft you strike out a lot more often. drafts are about soild building blocks that in a year or 3 create a home run.
the worst thing a team can do is bring in 1 dude who makes wayyyyy more than everyone else. a locker room never survives that. if the guy grew up with the team the big pay day is much more digestable. the skins keep making the DEON mistake. so far, we’ve avoided disgruntled massively overpaid dude that takes 4 years to get over. i can’t think of any aquisition that even sniffs at a Haynesworth or albert bell contract.
the worst in ozzies career has to be the foxworth contract.
