Off Topic: Earthquake!!!

And not Cody doing a tackling drill...  For real!!!

Star-divide

A 5.7 - 5.9 magnitude hit about halfway between Charlottesville and Richmond, right along I-64.  Here is the USGS link:

Earthquake

And here is another link to a story: AP Story

Hope everybody made it through safe and experienced little to no damage.  Felt the building shake pretty good here in Rockville for about a minute, although nothing fell over.  Reports are that people felt from Martha's Vineyard down to Atlanta and even in Ohio.

Again, hope y'all are okay.

It was pretty noticeable in Richmond, although fairly brief.

How Much

Building damage was there in Richmond? The epicenter was just up the road from you guys along I-64.

I actually drove around a good bit of the city yesterday after the quake and didn’t see any noticeable damage. I talked to a bank manager who said his building cracked, so I assume there was probably more damage like that in some of the older buildings around the city, but likely nothing major.

Never been through one of those before.

Though based on the hysteria from every Social Media outlet, I made a shirt if anyone wants one.

Lol

The sad thing is I bet some East Coasters would buy it, a 5.8 would barely faze me out here.

The last two earthquakes we had here I didn’t even realize were happening until after, one I thought was someone trying to wake me up out of bed and the other had me thinking I was experiencing vertigo in my office chair lol

Remember,

it was 5.8 EQ at the epicenter. What we in Baltimore and other areas was a lot lot less.

We’ve actually had some sales already. I really made it in the off chance that it did exceptionally well. The last time I missed out on an opportunity because I thought it was goofy or classless was when Osama Bin Laden was killed. I then read an article a week later that some kid with the same exact idea was now a millionaire.

Not letting that happen ever again.

I didn’t feel it…

I'm in Alexandria, VA

My whole building started shaking and everyone ran out scared.
I’ve experienced earthquakes in Puerto Rico and Mexico so I’m used to it.
It was awesome because the last time I felt one was 11 years ago.
This one was a 5.8 and felt from North Carolina to the Ohio Border.

Glad to hear everyone is OK. Kinda neat to be in something like that, especially since we just aren’t known for having that happen here. Something that big was kinda cool. Though I think I could admit, anything more than what I felt here would have had me piss myself.

At first I thought it was the people downstairs blasting music again. There was nothing falling over here, but I did put a hand on the TV to make sure it stayed put.

Where were you when… haha.

I guess Baltimoreans do that. I wonder if that shows on this forum…

I might be the only person in my area (NW Baltimore County)

I was starting up a 14 passenger bus and moving it to the front of the building, adjusting the A/C controls and when I walked into the building everyone asked if I felt it and I said, “felt what?”
