Eagles Defeat Ravens In Preseason Opener
Although it is only an exhibition game, the fact that Phildelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick made it look relatively easy should give cause for alarm to the Baltimore Ravens, who lost 13-6 in the preseason opener last night. Vick finished 4-6 for 74 yards and a TD pass in one series against the Ravens defensive starters.
His replacement, Vince Young, with a similar athletic and elusive style of play, had the Baltimore defense grasping air as both QB's scrambled and either found open receivers when they should have been sacked for losses time and time again.
Just as frustrating was the Ravens inability to put the ball in the end zone, ending up with only two Billy Cundiff field goals on the night. Although starting QB Joe Flacco only played two series, his replacement, rookie QB Tyrod Taylor, was harassed all night and sacked five times.
Flacco finished 3-6 for 60 yards and led the team to their first FG on his initial drive. Taylor got the bulk of the playing time and while his line of 19 completions in 28 attempts might look good, he threw two interceptions, including one deep in the Eagles territory. Taylor did flash his scrambling abilities, running for another 59 yards
Cundiff connected on a 53-yard FG on that first drive and hit another late one from 34 yards, but also missed wide on a 55-yard attempt.

I'm terrified for this season...
forget the numbers, just by the good old Eyeball test
we looked awful
I like Turtles!
I call it like I see it, some fan bases can't handle that.
Doldrums
Seriously it was the first preseason game off a shorten offseason. Add to that that for most of the game we were playing with two RTs in Reid and Cousins.
The first team looked good in the first drive too. I never read too much into these games as coaches will have players run plays that they never will in game situations to experiment with the idea (Think like what you do in a mock draft for fantasy football).

Seriously?
That’s the only response the second part of that comment deserves.

and he can take his pal with him
I’ll gladly eat my words if they change schemes and take the emotion out of personnel decisions

I give an opinion supported by facts… And I state that I’ll eat my words if I’m wrong. How is that out there?
You may not agree but harbs and his buddy are inept. I’m not telling you to board a spacecraft. I’m saying they screw up… Often.
Doghouse…ineptitude in implementing O scheme… Claiming we “give” games away instead of congratulating opposing teams and stfu.
I can go on if you like or we can revisit after week 4

McClain = Steady Headcase
Ellerbe still needs to show he’s mature enough to handle the job next to Ray and McClain has enough pass-rushing abilities that he can give the defense some unpredictability by having out MLB rush the passer.

preseason just started and here we go with this again
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?-langton Hughes
yeah I agree with Jimmy and Cary shutting down the other teams WR’s, they’ll make anybody rushing the QB look good - Jaz
