Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has stated that
if when the team wins the Super Bowl this season, he will make the decision to finally hang up his football cleats for good. In a story noted on Pro Football Talk, Lewis said his run needs to come to an end at some point in the near future and a second ring would be a great way to end it.
However, PFT mentions that the Ravens are currently 14-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, so they say odds are that Lewis will be back for at least one more season in 2012. Lewis' son will be a junior in high school this year and he'd like to be at some of his games and he goes on to say the only reason he is sticking with the NFL is to win that elusive 2nd ring.
While I would love to see #52 in purple and black at least one more season after 2011, if the Ravens win it all and Ray-Ray decides to end it on the field hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, then so be it.
