Ravens To Face Slew Of Young QB's In 2011
When most people look at Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco, they see a guy who has not missed a single game in his three year NFL career. At the same time, he is still considered a young quarterback in the league, but not as young as you may think, especially compared to the majority of teams that he will be facing in 2011. The Ravens will be facing 13 teams, three of them twice in the AFC North, for the total of 16 games. Of those 16 games, only seven team's quarterbacks have started more games than Flacco's 48 regular season starts in his three full seasons.
Depending on who is behind center for the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers when the Ravens face off against them, the number of QB's with more experience than Joe could actually slip to only four. The Titans have reportedly signed former Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck but also drafted Jake Locker in April. Same with the 49ers, who re-signed QB Alex Smith but also picked a QB in the 2011 NFL Draft, Colin Kaepernick.
The Jacksonville Jaguars still have QB David Garrard, but selected Blaine Gabbert with the 10th overall pick in April's draft and while new Seattle Seahawks QB Tavares Jackson is going into his 6th NFL season, he only has 20 starts under his belt, less than half as many as Flacco. Depending on who ends up starting Arizona, be it Kevin Kolb or Kyle Orton, neither of whom is currently on the Cardinals, will determine whether they have more starting experience than Flacco, as Kolb has way less, but Orton significantly more starts than Joe does.
Only the Pittsburgh Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger, Indianapolis Colts' Peyton Manning and Houston Texans' Matt Schaub are definites to start with their respective teams with more NFL experience than the Ravens signal-caller. With one of the weaker schedules in the NFL according to 2010 records, this gives the Ravens and Flacco a great chance to show his progress has moved to the next level with a breakout season to finally move among the discussion of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, at least solidly within the top ten.

I don't understand
Does this mean we got Asomughi?
I like Turtles!
Of course it says it in big bold letters

asomughi
i’d like to hear we signed josh wilson
and i’m hoping pitt screwed themselves by giving Ike $30M
let’s see who they have to dump now
Guessing it'll be
Aaron Smith if he doesn’t restructure.
I like Turtles!
they will likely release him since they have replacements
flozell is under contract for $5M… smith is aging and has been injured lately…
im really surprised they’re keeping Ike even though I thought it was necessary… something’s got to give
Lesser of two evils was to overpay for Ike and deal with the consequences.

agreed... let's see who is next on deck for Baltimore at CB & WR
Remember we still have plenty of cash to spend to improve an already very good team
Steelers cut Max Starks
Guess Willie Colon returns to LT.

If he returns to Pitt:
Colon wants to return to Pittsburgh, but his market is heating up. We’ve heard on more than one occasion that the Bears are serious contenders for Colon, who would play guard in Chicago. The Seahawks have an opening at left guard. Buffalo has had offensive line deficiencies for as long as we can remember
-Adam Caplan
But he did say this on Monday:
-Pitt Post Gazette
“My heart is in Pittsburgh,” said Colon. “I want to be here, but things happen, the business side takes over and we’ll have to wait.”

Burgess coming back on a one year mini

Yea!
He is such a good guy, and an under rated ST hitter.

Clayton from ESPN is now on Twitter, guys
look him up
I hope the Jets do get Aso
and I pray they hire Randy Moss…
20% of their cap will go to two players… and Moss is a cancer
He wasn't
a problem in New England until this last season, and if he does become a prob, you can just cut him because he won’t be expensive. Problem solved.
I like Turtles!
true...he might keep his mouth shut
but he isn’t the player he was in 2007… I expect nothing from him but trouble
Moss + rex would either be wildly successful or a complete failure. I could see moss being motivated by rex or moss hating rex for supporting sanchez when he doesn’t get moss the ball enough. Hard to predict IMO

he won't like not being #1
and he is not who he used to be… no matter what his agent says
one of the most selfish people in pro football is not going to suddenly change
in fact, I would only expect him to get hyped for the Pats games
Landry is gone and so is Gaither
Weddle got 5/$40M
What does the market for gaither look like right now?

You're holding out hope he stays
He isn’t wanted in Baltimore… he’s gone somewhere…hopefully the Raiders
some hope yes
Because if he’s healthy he can ball, but u may be right

I have been mulling about whether Braylon Edwards would fit.
I settled on, i’d be fine with it if he would wear super glue on his hands and mouth.
No thanks.

Why the heck isn't there a Free Agency Open Thread around here?
I’m getting seasick jumping in and out of all the frontpage posts?
Can’t we just have an Open Thread with some various Ravens articles clipped from around the web?

Bowling for Soup
Had a song titled “High School Never Ends” -truer words have never been sung.
But on a more serious note, like someone else posted find a good one and hold one for dear life. Trust me, priorities change over the course of time. What seems important now when you are young and single, not so important once you have kids -you need to take the long view.
HE GOT WEEED!

There’s just too much scattered conversations because there isn’t a central place to discuss this stuff. I find myself reading arguments about Nmadi in a Donte Stallworth frontpage post. lol

I've been doing more research on the cap
specifically how 2010 will affect players cap numbers and what our cap really is… the FO doesn’t want anyone to know the cap number so rivals can’t make inferences about roster changes
as of now, I stick by the statement that we are in great shape, including the rookie pool and RFA. I expect things to get better for us
The redskins just signed peyton manning. They offered him the whole franchise
