Ravens' Rice 'Tweets' Trash Talk With Steelers' Clark
The recent arrest of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has set off an avalanche of comments and criticism of the Steelers organization for just another pro football player in trouble with the law. This time, Ward, who just finished winning the championship of the hit TV show, 'Dancing With The Stars,' was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).
It addition to the public's backlash, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has apparently gotten into a bit of a 'tweet-war-of-words' with Steelers safety Ryan Clark. A story on ESPN.com details the dialogue of words between Rice and Clark, started when Rice tweeted, "Well it looks like Hines Ward will miss week 1 when the lockout ends DUI charge not a good look."
Clark took issue with his comments and the exchange of trash talk ensued. Notable from the history of the issue is that Rice's cousin was hit and killed by a drunken driver years ago and he is a spokesperson in a Maryland campaign against drunk driving. Luckily, neither player will have to wait too long to settle this new dispute, as the two teams open the 2011 NFL regular season against each other in Baltimore on September 11th.

Personally
I’m not seeing any trash talk. All I see is Rice mentioning that Ward might miss Week 1. Honestly Rice doesn’t have a leg to stand on if he wanted to trash talk, considering Kindle and Stallworth are his teammates and I haven’t seen him call them out.
However, Ryan Clark claiming that Baltimore vs Pittsburgh isn’t a rivalry because “we have to actually win first” for it to be considered a rivalry. Someone should remind him that not only did we win IN Pittsburgh last year, but we’ve actually on 4 of the last 12. And even the games we’ve lost, its not like we just roll over. Every game is a smash mouth, hard hitting game that is more often than not decided by one crucial play. Although trash talk is expected between these two teams, what Clark said is flat out stupid. Maybe not “Harrison stupid”, but stupid nonetheless.

Perhaps then
Rice wasn’t trash talking but Clark was?

Maybe. I mean, Clark did say something along the lines of “I’ll be looking for you”, and rather than taking the bait and turning the whole thing into some rant, Rice just simply said “you know where to find me”.

Then again
I didn’t see Kindle or Stallworth on DWTS trying to put on a “good guy” personna. They made mistakes admitted them and paid for them. Ward makes stupid moves, like having a cop worried enough to pull his gun,and apologizes for nothimg. Who the Hell is Clark, anyway? Never heard of him.someone should tell him that in order to comment on rivalries, one needs to actually play in a game more tha 1 oe 2 plays.

Gotta admit
Clark is a decent safety and a very solid hitter. Ask Willis.

Clark is actually their starting Free Safety. So if anything, there’s maybe only 1 or 2 defensive plays that he’s not in. But I completely agree with you on Ward. Stallworth did his time and came out humbled, and very appreciative to be given another chance. Kindle we haven’t even heard much from because of his injury and the lockout. Ward on the other hand is slamming into curbs at 3 am in the morning, blowing a 0.13 BAC, and then releasing a statement claiming that he’s innocent. Be a man, admit you f***ed up, serve your punishment, and move on. Don’t continue to play the whole “good guy” card, it just makes him look like an even bigger jackass.

Yea, don’t mind what that guy said. Just leave it alone.
Flacco's first 3 years vs. Brady's, Manning's and Brees' first 3 years
Flacco threw for just 21 fewer passing yards than Brady and tossed four fewer interceptions. Flacco threw for 1,655 more yards than Brees, two more touchdowns and four fewer picks. Manning, who averaged 88 more passes per season, threw for way more yards and touchdowns than Flacco, but also tossed 24 more interceptions.
you must not get the games where you live. Because Clark is a starter and has certainly been an impact player in several games against us.

Yet again
i will not be able to watch football when it begins, but i’ll be back on earth before the regular season gets too far underway. Still, upsetting I won’t be able to see Ray Rice as he puts the team on his back do and falls backwards into the endzone, grabbing his nuts, yelling “RYAN CLARK HOLD MY DIIIIIIIIIICK”

This needs to make its way onto a bumper sticker.

Ryan Clark is average... nothing special
When Troy’s not on the field, he shows nothing special…
see you guys in Week 1
No offense to anyone here, but why did Rice type anything to begin with? Seeing as how he had some issue before about possibly “bribing” a police officer with an autograph, why open himself up to the backlash he knows he’s going to get.
If you are going to make a comment to rile up the other team, make it a good one at least. Something like
"RYAN CLARK HOLD MY DIIIIIIIIIICK"

Do you have any proof that Rice tried to bribe a police officer?
If you can’t corroborate a claim, you should refrain from making it. The only thing you accomplish is harming someone’s rep and making yourself look stupid.
I don’t think he ever implied that it was fact. But I do remember exactly what he’s talking about. Rice was pulled over, never given a ticket, but gave the police officer an autograph. So the media, doing what they did best, spun it and tried to make it more than it actually was. Nothing else ever came from it, as Rice & the officer involved are the only two who know what actually happened. Maybe the officer just planned on giving a warning long before he even knew it was Rice driving, got up to the car, recognized a hometown hero, and asked for an autograph. The whole thing is left wide open for speculation.

But my point remains. It was a sketchy situation and he probably should have just shut his mouth and not said anything. Don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house type of thing… ya know?

Ypui, know, like claiming a player will be suspended, without any actual way of knowing one way or another… that type pf thing.
