During the 2011 NFL Draft, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh came into the media room and sat down to chat for a few minutes during a lull in the events. I asked Coach Harbaugh if any of the draft picks were able to get their playbooks in the small window of opportunity before the NFL Lockout was back in place. He said CB Jimmy Smith got his in time, but no one else was around to get one in time.
Of course, that didn't stop the players from making copies for their new teammates and it appears that according to a recent interview with Torrey on Baltimore Sportstalk radio station WNST, that he now has his own to start working on learning, thanks to veteran WR Anquan Boldin.
Boldin got Smith a copy of the playbook and now he expects to be getting together with "Q" as well as Derrick Mason to begin what they are calling his Ravens' education. This will help get him up to speed on the pro level, as the lockout continues and has already cut into what would have been rookie camp and shortly will be when they usually hold their first of many mini-camps.
