Which Player Would You Re-Sign? Chris Carr or Josh Wilson
Chris Carr immediately stepped up his game and took a leadership role of the secondary when Dominique Foxworth went down with an acl tear. Carr found himself having a solid season and it was even said that quarterbacks eventually stop passing his way whenever he was on the field. Josh Wilson came to The Ravens through a trade with The Seattle Seahawks and the trade eventually paid off for The Ravens later on in the season. Josh Wilson developed into a playmaker for The Ravens and he is most famous for his game winning interception against the Houston Texans for a touchdown .
The Ravens just recently drafted two cornerbacks and some may think that the chances for both Chris Carr and Josh Wilson have decreased. If you were The Ravens which player would you re-sign?

At one of the hardest positons to fill
I say we keep all 5 (Foxworth, Webb, Carr, Wilson and Smith)
If one goes down with an injury, we’ll be in trouble all over again.
I like Turtles!
I agree with keeping 5 but what do we do with Chykie Brown then?
Honestly though I’d rather have kept both Wilson and Carr and not drafted Brown but I’m sure Ozzie and Harbaugh have a plan.
Wilson!!
gotta keep pistol…never been a fan of carr….carr maybe cheaper tho…never really been a fan of Foxworth either,Fox shud take a paycut to make room for wilson.Fox ant worth the money he’s makin.

Have to say Wilson...
He is younger and has a much higher ceiling I feel… Chis Carr is a very good nickle at best and regularly gets torched when he has to move from covering the slot receiver. However if that last corner position we need is purely a slot guy then Carr may be our man. Wilson can do both though..
Don't let my defense dictate your offense..
I’d have to say Wilson. Although Carr has been really good for us, I’ve never really been a big fan. He’s a nickle back at best, and I’m worried of he was ever thrust into a #1-2 position due to injury, we’d be screwed. Besides, Ozzie doesn’t trade away draft picks just to obtain a guy for only one season.

Hopefully both, but I would go with Wilson. While I do honestly believe that Carr is THE BEST nickel/dime CB in the league, Wilson is a better cover guy overall.
Like stated above, it wouldn’t be Ozzie like to give up a 4th round pick for a player then only have him play for us one season, especially after how well Wilson played the 2nd half of last season.
"No disrespect to Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara, but I just think I have better cover skills. They get tested a lot, and that’s for a reason. The other team sees something in their game that they want to attack, and me playing in the same league as Prince, we played the same teams and they didn’t attack me the same. So why does that happen?" - CB Jimmy Smith
I agree and I saw that Ozzie mention Chis Carr being able play as a safety maybe they can re-sign
him as safety and re-sign Josh Wilson to continue to play the cornerback position. I also think about Cary Williams as well and Im sure if he has show enough potential to be re-sign to the Ravens
Oooh, I can see moving Zibby to start opposite Reed, and having Ruki and Carr as our backup safeties. However, I unfortunately don’t see Cary Williams or (I know I’ll be criticized for this) Chykie Brown making the final roster.

I saw some highlights of Chykie Brown and I dont know if he will make the final roster or not but
he does have some serious potentials to be a very good cornerback but i guess we will find out once training camp starts to see how well he progress
Ozzie pick a player and he doesn’t make the team…. Blasphemy! Just effing with ya.
I could see Brown being IRed if he can’t make the team for some reason.

I think it’s got to be Wilson unless he asks for a high price. Carr is a great Nickel back, but Wilson is the better of the two and can be a starter if needed to be. I can see Carr staying though if Wilson wants a high amount because our starters will more than likely be Smith and Foxworth. This is definitely a great problem to have and I am really liking the way our secondary looks this year.
You should cut Wilson...

I didn't know you were a fiend for semantics
Does “not resign” work for you?

if they are both UFA
i imagine Carr would give the best bang for the buck
It’s not our buck though. Biscotti can afford it.

The problem is more than just money.
The bigger issue is roster space. We only have a finite number of spaces and if we spend an extra one on a CB then we have to cut elsewhere.
My point was Wilson > Carr. If there can be only one.(Yea, Highlander reference)

I feel like Josh Wilson is just to good to play backup. Granted he would be getting plenty reps, probably a similar amount to Jimmy and Fox but he can easily be the starter on a number of teams. I would love to keep him around but if he goes somewhere and gets that big payday than there would be no hard feelings. I remember when we traded for him and I watched his highlights I was in love with the guy. Whether he stays or not Im gonna be a huge J Wilson fan for the rest of his career, unless he went to Pittsburgh because I just cant do that.
Carr seems to be a certainty. He wants to come back, the team wants him back, he’s the best nickel corner in the league and he can play on the outside if need be. Fingers crossed to bring them both back and have one solid/nasty group of corners. Ed Reed is gonna be a nightmare!

I see little comparison between the two
Carr was a solid corner and tackler all season, playing tough and physical. Wilson had a great resume when he came here from Seattle and their fans were angry he was traded. However, Wilson was pushed around by the more physical receviers over and over again and the Texans game pick was right to him.
I was psyched about getting Josh but he’s done nothing to suggest he is even in Carr’s class. Re-sign Carr w/o question.

Yea, Wilson has done nothing except single handily save our team from turmoil and possibly missing the playoffs against Houston. He held Dwayne Bowe to ZERO catches in the playoffs, and this was the same Dwayne Bowe who had 12 TD’s in 7 games.

Yea im not sure wat you are talking about at all. The only time Wilson got pushed around was the one play by Roddy White. White blatantly said he pushed Josh down. If someone ran full speed into you as you were backpedaling what do you think would happen? Wilson to me plays very physical, more physical than Carr actually.

I say keep both. As we’ve learned over the last four seasons, you can never have too many good corners, and the NFL is only getting more and more pass happy. I think resigning both may be possible since neither player is a star. Carr may have a bigger market value since a team may sign him with hopes that he can start… I see him getting a similar contract to what we gave Foxworth. That price may be too high.
That being said… I think the team will try resigning both. I think they’ll hold on to Wilson but may let Carr walk if he wants too much… or doesn’t want to be the third/fourth corner on the depth chart. I’m hoping that we keep all of our guys except Washington, but it may not be possible.
I think Wilson will be too expensive and he knows he can start on alot of teams…Carr will be the most likely pick

Keep both if we can, but Wilson if we can't.
Both have special team strengths, including returning capabilities.
Both preformed very well this past season.
Both have similar size.
Both are reliable tacklers.
Both have shown abilities to make interceptions, Carr may have better hands.
Both could very well be starters on another team in need of corner back help or even return-man help.
Wilson is 2 years younger and recently cost us a draft pick.
Carr was a free agent pick-up.
Wilson seems to have better speed.
I would love to keep both. I think Wilson’s contract may be a little more expensive, but we already invested a draft pick when we traded for him. If we lose him to free agency we won’t get much more in return than what we have already spent on him. Chris Carr on the other hand could give us anything as far as comp. picks go, and that would be more than what we spent on him.
