Ravens' Top Ten Biggest Draft Busts: #10
Each weekday for the next 20 days we will be counting down the Baltimore Ravens'Top Ten Biggest Draft Busts' and then the 'Top Ten Biggest Draft Successes.' This is sure to draw significant debate, as sometimes it takes a few years before a player can be labeled a success or a failure. Number ten on my list of 'busts' will be a match to gasoline to start the debate right off the bat.
Sergio Kindle has not even stepped onto the playing field for single down in his NFL career but he is still being named my 10th biggest draft bust. Drafted out of the University of Texas in 2010, Kindle was thought to be the answer to the Ravens pass rush problems but cracked his skull in the summer and still has not been cleared to resume football-contact activities. He is also awaiting trial on a DUI court case and while the NFL Lockout may actually help his situation, until he gives the team some sort of a return on his investment, he starts off this list as the Ravens 10th biggest draft bust in team history.

Eh, Too Early
If Kindle never sees the field then he may be even higher. He was a big risk anyway.
I’d expect Deron Jenkins to be high on this list.

I am having trouble coming up with a top 10.
What rounds do you have to be chosen in to be considered a bust, 1st and 2nd? If so, the only ones I can say are Travis Taylor, Patrick Johnson, Dan Cody, Anthony Weaver and Deron Jenkins. Boller…..sort of. Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf Matt Leinart, those are busts. Boller is still competing for a starting role 8 years after he was drafted while the others are either out of football after only 2-3 seasons or getting into trouble at college parties.
Do you go to the 3rd round as well? I don’t think so.
I am also not ready to say guys like Kruger, Gooden or even Kindle are busts and hope they are not on this list. A guy who is taken in the first or second round should be gauged at how good they are after about their 4th or 5th year. Sure we could have used Kindle’s presence last season, but we haven’t even seen what he is able to do on the field yet. Until the doctors say he can’t play football anymore, it is unfair to call Kindle a bust.

I went into the fourth round
to make my picks. I have them done but will be posting one a day thru #1, then start all over with the Top Ten Draft successes. Follow along and debate my reasoning!

Sounds reasonable
I had no problem getting more than 10 but I’d rather wait and let Bruce go one by one.
I can’t wait for the Boller debate.

Since I'm doing it one a day,..
you’ll have to wait quite a while for Boller’s name to be mentioned.
