Terps' Da'Rel Scott Runs Fastest 40 Yard Dash of RB's
At the NFL Scouting Combine earlier today, the University of Maryland's Da'Rel Scott ran the fastest 40 yard dash of all the running backs at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Indiana. Scott turned in a sharp official time of 4.34 seconds, way ahead of former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram (Alabama) who ran a pedestrian 4.62.
Da'Rel is not expected to draw a ton of early attention in April's NFL Draft, but he should be a mid-to-late round draft pick and today's show of speed will only help his draft status. Congrats to the Maryland running back who obviously turned a lot of NFL heads who knew he was fast but didn't expect him to be that fast.

Scott is a very underrated pass catcher and lateral runner. I have had the privilege of watching him get better and better each season. An unfortunate injury set him back a bit last year, but he will be a nice complimentary RB for a team that likes to run the ball first.
"If only Flacco could put up numbers similar to Matt Ryan, or maybe just improve his stats year-to-year, he wouldn’t seem like such a wasted draft pick. It’s as if a young quarterback needs to put up better stats in his first three years than nearly every other quarterback to play in the NFL to justify a first round pick." - Amp
Ehhh, not sure. While I would love to get him, he is too similar to the style of Rice. I would much rather get a power back, especially if Willis and Le’Ron leave.
