He deserved it, still hate him though. Glad that Ed Reed and Ngata both got 1 vote for DPOY
"My youngest brothers think I'm a dorky older brother, I can't tell jokes because, 'I'm not funny.' They're much more street smart than I am. They can say whatever they want, cause 'they're funny.' I do pick on them. I try to be funny, but they don't laugh. Even if I am funny, nothing I say is funny to them because I'm just the older brother who's not that cool." - Joe Flacco
I think it could have been a toss up between Ben and Tom. Ben pulled it off and Tom’s at home after looking not so great against the Jets. Then again, Pitt was 3-1 without Ben. So many factors.
Hope you were kidding
The Steelers are in the Super Bowl and Ben is a winner but he didn’t deserve even a ,mention as PoY, and never received a single vote, rightly so.

Tom Brady is deserving
Brady did have a phenomenal season and as great as his numbers are in 2010 his overall command of his offense and the respect that he garners from teammates put him in an elite class of QB ’s in the NFL. So much of the Patriots offensive success in that shotgun spread offense depends on his high FBI (football intelligence) both pre and post snap. And that 9 to1 TD int. ratio is almost unheard of. Brady is simply surgical like in his dissection of NFL defenses.
Brady’s performace against the hated Pittsburg Steelers in the Week 10 was a thing of beuaty. 30-43, 69 comp. %, 8.1 yds. per comp., 3 td’s and a 117 QB rating. It is performances like the Pittsburgh dominance that make Brady an easy choice for OPOY.
All that said, I would have given the award to Michael Vick. The circumstances surrounding the Michael Vick ascension to the Philadephia QB position were not easy . Kevin Kolb was hand picked and looked to be a player overwhelmed at times as the Eagles signal caller in my opinion, but I digress. The Week 10 Philadelphia Eagles- Washington Redskins game was one for the ages. On that MNF stage, Michael Vick destroyed the Redskins with a performance that had never been done. Vick’s stat line in the Philly 59-28 win, 20-28, comp. %71, 12 yds. per comp., 4 td’s and a 150 QB rating. Add on top of that, 8 rush att. for 80 yards and 2 td’s. 6 TD’s in one game. The talking heads conversation in the print media and on the air waves is still fresh in my mind concerning the performance of both of these QB’s in week 10.
Tom Brady was very deserving and yet I would not have been upset one bit if the OPOY award had gone to Michael Vick. His chances to succeed were much more difficult and highly unlikely in the minds of so many that cover this league and watch it on a regular basis. After all, Brady surely is going to be taking home the NFL MVP award. What’s wrong with splitting up the hardware?
