I was just noticing something that seemed interesting to me.
It appears that some of the most successful Super Bowl franchises in history are going to be in this years playoffs.
Let me explain:
The 6 franchises with the most playoff appearances in history are all currently on pace to make the playoffs.
Pitt: 8, 6 wins
Cowboys: 8, 5 wins
Pats: 6, 3 wins
Broncos: 6, 2 wins
49ers: 5, 5 wins
Pack: 5, 4 wins
That is a combined 38 appearances and 25 victories. That is a lot of franchise success.
The other 6 teams don't bring much to the table, in fact the other 6 have less combined appearances and victories than the lowest of the other 6:
Saints: 1, 1 win
Falcons: 1, 0 wins
Lions: 0, 0
Ravens: 1, 1
Jets: 1, 1
Texans: 0, 0
I am not going to do the research to verify this but I am going to blindly guess that this is the most Super Bowl winningest and going to-est playoffs in history. I did try to verify it by googling "Most Super Bowl Winningest and Going To-est playoffs in history" but surprising I did not get the results I was looking for. But this does seem like a playoffs with a lot of franchises packed with Super Bowl pedigree.
And as a fan of 1 of the top 6 teams bragging rights could be at stake!
