Betting Site Gives Odds For Positive PED Test Including Ravens' Ray Lewis

Betting site GR88.com has just posted a whacked-out list of pro athletes that they think will be the next ones to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs. In the wake of MLB's Milwaukee Brewer's Ryan Braun's recent positive test, all eyes are on the guy who will be announced as the next guy in this long line of disgraced professional sports athletes.

Ironically, baseball's Barry Bonds was just sentenced yesterday in his steroid scandal, receiving 30 days of house arrest, two years probation and 250 hours of community service. Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis is inexplicably on the list that was released by the gambling site. For whatever reason, while the expected "leaders" of this list are golf's Tiger Woods along with baseball's Albert Pujols (22% each), Lewis is the third favorite to test positive (14%), just ahead of boxing's Manny Pacquiao (12%).

The only other NFL players listed were Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow (6% each). I guess the public always thinks guys who are extraordinarily successful must be cheating, right? Sad statement on today's thought process, in my opinion.

best tackling team in the NFL, most physical and just dominates people. When we walk out of the tunnel and out of that locker room, we expect to shut people out and play great defense - Ravens DC Chuck Pagano

Are you posting things with only money in mind? Just to see how many clicks you can get? This is terrible content!

Don't be so hard on the guy, haha.

As stupid as it is to have betting odds on the next great athlete to test positive for PEDs, this I think is more of an example how the Ravens, and it’s star players, are constantly belittled and disrespected. It’s nothing new, but a fine example of worthless outsiders’ opinions.
As far as Ray, no one trains like that guy does. I always love hearing how he trains in the off season. It’s different every year what he does to train his body, and keep his body able to keep up with the “younger” guys around. I think this year he took up cycling. Stuff like this is why he mentors and helps train some of the great athletes in the US like our own Michael Phelps.

I didn’t mean to be hard but I can’t find anything positive in posting this type of content. If I’m wrong, I don’t mind someone pointing that out to me!

As for your claim that Ravens are “belittled & disrespected,” it’s untrue. Ravens may not get the publicity that big market teams do but that’s the way media works. To claim Ravens are singled out and belittled is to imply that there is a national conspiracy… and I’ve yet to hear a conspiracy theory that had merit!

One last thing on the betting sites is that gambling against the house in a casion or with bookies on professional sports is a losing proposition. I don’t care if you’re Money Mayweather or Joe HVAC Tech… you will lose. Pushing a gambling site to earn money is immoral and unethical and is impossible to justify using moral theory. It just isn’t right.

by saying they are disrespected doesn’t mean there is some national conspiracy. All that means is we are a team who’s on it’s way to making playoffs 4 straight years, we have knocked off some of the top teams in the league in the Steelers, Texans and 49ers, but we still don’t get as much coverage as we should.

On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."

Well-said! Ravens and Baltimore deserve more coverage and I’m hoping they earn it in indy!
