Ravens Play Complete Game, Beat 49ers 16-6
The Ravens gave us a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. Baltimore faced a very tough opponent and dominated all over the field. The pass rush, led by Terrell Suggs with three sacks, was relentless. Paul Kruger and Pernell McPhee were everywhere and the secondary played mistake free. This defense showed they are ready for the post-Ray Lewis era.
Joe Flacco had a great game. He did just enough to stay ahead of Alex Smith and the 49ers all night. Flacco made the big throws when he need to and moved the ball well against one of the leagues toughest defenses. Joe distributed the ball evenly and used all of his weapons.
John Harbaugh and Cam Cameron stayed grounded (literally) with their offensive attack. With the defense registering nine sacks they were blessed with some pretty good field position throughout the game. Cam had some questionable play calls in key moments again (QB draw on 3rd and goal) but the offense did what was necessary to win the game.
John Harbaugh gets to one-up" little brother in round one and Baltimore could not be happier. Happy Thanksgiving!

Good game fellas
The Ravens straight up dominated out there.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful that my team is 9-2.

When the Colts left I loved watching montana and Rice play catch
49ers filled a space glad to see them doing well, but still happy not against my team. I think a rematch in February could be fun

Ben Seems
To perform best in small, cramped spaces…
"A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring."
"The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug."
"God's whiskers! Your face is as hideous as the demon's in my storybook!"
"I never expected to see the day when girls would get sunburned in the places they do today."
"It's big for a reason."
For Pittsburgh fans, that's Pope, Twain, Rostand, Rogers and Megamind
and Ray performs best
when he has a wide alley to display his athletic knifing ability. And Stallworth played at 95 miles an hour at all times.

Very Disappointing
Ben was mentioned in your post that I was responding to. Where was Ray mentioned in my post? Nope. And Stallworth isn’t even a Raven, Einstein. So not sure why you are bringing them up.
This is the best you can come up with? Can’t even stay on subject and keep pulling from the same, tired old well? Heck, what you are referring to with Ray happened in the previous millennium.
For all you know, I may have been referring to the fact that Ben has great pocket awareness that when the pocket is collapsing i.e. cramped spaces, he is still able to make a play. Not really sure where you were going with Ben…? You probably have done the most here to (unfortunately) promote the stereotype about P-burgh and limited educational experience…

Come on now
you weren’t referring to his pocket presence man. Geez. Why is it that you guys are so sensitive about this shit? It’s freaking football, and unless you are putting your mortgage on the line, you have no interest in it.
The Ravens WERE the team that gave him a contract after his vehicular manslaughter, right? So it is relevant in a way to what you were alluding to, now wasn’t it?
You can try to hide behind the “oh you’re on the same old well” but what the hell do you call what you typed? I know how some of your guys work though, everything is fair unless it’s about the Ravens.
You can spin it how you want to, you know what you were trying to say there holmes.
And I’m not too worried about your opinion of " P-burgh stereotypes" because I can assure you, even if they are true, they are nowhere near as bad as the ones about “B-more”. Those "stereotypes aren’t even stereotypes, they are last grasps at short straws. However, your thoughts are welcome on sites like Yahoo. Right up your alley. The truth is (as you should know, but choose to ignore) is that every sports team, city, state, country etc has a wide array of people. But you know…whatever makes you feel “superiors”

Damn straight, skippy, everything is fair when it comes to squeelers. Again, you conveniently ignored the fact I never once mentioned Ray or Stallworth, yet you brought them into the conversation out of the blue. I made a snarky comment about Ben, when Ben was mentioned on the previous post, ON A RAVENS BLOG, not P-burgh’s. See how I stayed on subject? It is a simple concept, one that should not be past even your limited faculties.
So you have a real hard time staying on subject. I guess mommy and daddy never really fixed that ADD issue, huh? At least Evan got one thing right: you really are a crudus malus contentus.

See, there is a well known stereotype about the denizens of P-burgh, rednecks, roadkill BBQ’s, lack of education, etc, etc, etc. Initially, I thought balderdash, but given specimens such as you, it gets harder and harder to disbelieve such stereotypes.
Baltimore and whiny? Nope, not even close. You see, the most famous stereotype for Baltimore is our weirdness. Some of it steeped in history, some of it steeped in the characters associated with Baltimore such as Poe, John Waters, et al. Many historical examples, I will give you a football related one: Baltimore insisted that the kickoff time for home Baltimore Colt Sunday games be at 2PM, not 1PM. The reason why would be beyond your meager capacity; but suffice it so say it was a real pain in the tuckus for the NFL and the TV networks.
So if you are going to play the Baltimore stereotype card, you should have played that one. I even have to make your arguments for you against me… pathetic…

Important to the coach I would guess.
Suggs I think said that Harbaugh tried to downplay it but they all knew how important it was. It doesn’t make it the ‘right’ move, but it is a potential reason why.

If beating his brother meant so much as to merit the action of a winning conference/Super Bowl champion, why did he talk all week about how that didn’t matter, and they’re just focusing on a tough game? It’s a bit of double-speak, and personally, I’d be pissed if I was Harbaugh. It’s a big win, but frankly, as a team that has not responded well after big wins, I’d be intensely careful to hammer the team into focusing on the next opponent, and not celebrate this one. It’s a big win, no doubt, but you guys want to get to the next level. Part of that is not reveling in the regular season. Win and move on.

Yes, horrible call.
But 1 of 14 plays does not make it lame. He had a wonderful drive when we scored the TD. I really liked the trips right pass to Boldin on the right sideline, followed by the same play on the next third down, but flipped (it was completed to Evans on a crossing route).

I'm tired of seeing that stretch play fail so often.
Perhaps we should stop calling it so frequently. First and goal inside the five should be runs up the gut with a toss sprinkled every once in awhile. Stretch plays take far too long to develop to frequently be successful deep in the redzone.
by Mayne_Event on Nov 25, 2011 12:13 AM EST up reply actions
agreed. for that stretch play to work down there it basically has to be blocked perfectly and that’s a lot to ask against such a good defense.

That Has Been
Rattling around in my brain for a couple of days now.
Maybe that was all of Cam’s fault, but it seemed to me something wasn’t right with that play. Not sure if Joe changed something, or if players didn’t go where they were suppose to go (there’s that execution thing) or what it was, but right from the snap, it looked like your typical busted play and Flacco just decided to take off. I could swear Flacco was looking to pass it, but none of the receivers were where he thought they would be so he took off.
But maybe it was just a really bad idea from the get-go…

Damn man if we get that out of our system and win out, which we are very much capable of doing, I really don’t think anybody can stop us at home in the playoffs.

what a great game. Even though we only scored 16 that was a very good offensive game. We controlled the clock and consistently moved the ball on one of the top defenses in the league. The pass rush was insane tonight. Hopefully we keep this rolling. We are hitting stride right on time and looking forward to us getting even stronger.

Yeah that’s the story of his life right there. But despite this season being in many ways statistically uglier than his past seasons, I think this is the first season he has really carried us to some of our most important victories and it is the first season where I feel like he’s ready to take care of that BID’NESS in the playoffs… and dare i say it… the SUPER… no no I won’t say it yet.

The browns game is a perfect setup for another trap game. Dont fall for it guys! You are too good for it! With that being said, this game tonight was one of the more impressive team performances. Awesome win guys! Keep it up!
Offiacially cant stand jamie dukes.
Down plays Flacco and says flacco wont be a championship QB because he is not special and Rogers threw for more than both him and smith combined. Lions defense is not the ravens or the 9ers. Flacco played a really good game.
Good thing he doesnt give life advice.
the sad thing is he won’t ever get credit even if we win it all. If we win a super bowl it will be because of the defense and Rice. I just don’t ever see him getting the credit he deserves there will always be some excuse. When he plays well it was a fluke and if he plays bad that’s the true Flacco.

Nevermind how well he’s played against elite defenses like SF and Pittsburgh. I even think his performance against the Jets was better than the stat line indicated. He played well enough to win that game.

holy cow lower the bar a little
Colin Cowherd does from time to time talk about interesting subjects, and he has something called—what is it—CHARISMA?—that has at least contributed to his recent explosion of ego. Jamie Dukes? Ex-offensive lineman who loves himself more than Wide Receivers do. He can never agree with what anyone else says because that would just reduce the amount of talking he has to do to explain why he is right (as he always is). I’ve seen him belittle Fran Charles multiple times (not that Fran is a genius, but come on, no reason to embarrass your boy on TV now), and in one sad 3am "whats on TV moment I saw what appeared to be his own “show” where he kindof just stood in front of a TV with music playing, pointed out things in games he thought were funny, and laughed at his own jokes while looking back at the studio crew as if to be like “heh heh pretty good huh?”

Flacco has to trust his receivers to make catches, but shouldn’t throw towards coverage. He needs to attack deep more often, but shouldn’t hold onto the ball so long. He needs to show more awareness in the pocket and move to extend plays, but nothing good comes of him leaving the pocket. He should run with the ball if nobody’s open, but he definitely can’t run with the ball.

Awesome Defense!!!
This was by far the most tenacious I have seen the 2011 Ravens D… Definitely made a statement!!!
9 Sacks and an Int says it all. Didn't get many turnovers but damn Alex Smith and the O-Line looked demoralized out there.
That intentional grounding penalty at the end says it all. The Niners offense was running shit-scared by the end of the game, even after losing our most intense player.

As I am sure you know I was roting for a Raven loss last night
The 49r’s Olins looked completely over matched. It makes me feel a litle better about our Oline (except for the last 4 plays – ugly) But congratulations on a dominating win. The game was nowhere near as close as the score but, I only got to watch beginning at halftime. I was impressed with Flacco’s ability to complete it when he needed to. You guys are in first place and rightfully so. I an looking forward to watching the Bengals compete against the best at full strength in Cincy in the last game. It will be a truetest of where we are aa a team and help us know what we need to do with that extra first in the draft. We will probably have 2 picks ahead of both you and the Steelers. Maybe that will help. Playing the Steelers and the Ravens twice each is a true challenge. We are still a couple of players short IMO so we hadbetter make the best of this draft. We put almost 500 yards on your D and still couldn’t quite get it done. We have work to do.
Again, good win against a strong opponent.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"

Not taking anything away from what the seahawks did to us but...
2 lost fumbles on kickoff returns and the failure to commit to the run says more about us than it did for Seattle.
The 49ers didn’t lose because of the short week, they lost because they didn’t force us into any game-changing mistakes that their team has lived off of this season (leads the league in takeaways). Both of our teams had a short week so that’s no excuse. Also great defenses, like the one the 49ers have, travel well. This game was decided on the fact that we forced the 49er offence to be one dimensional. Once that happened, all we had to do was pin our ears back and call up the taxidermist to make a mount for Alex Smith’s head.
5. It’s impossible to overstate how badly the Ravens wanted to win this game for John Harbaugh.
That’s why I thought the Gatorade bath…
you remember that play, from that game, on that day. sweet, right?... right...

haha
also bro, not trying to be a jerk, but just since it’s front page and all
John Harbaugh gets to one-up" little brother in round one and Baltimore could not be happier. Happy Thanksgiving!
you need to open quotations on “one-up.” You only closed them:
one up"
TO BILL BRASKY!!!
That is the only thing that pissed me off. We killed them up he middle on three straight plays then once we get on the 1 yard line u change. Rice couldve scored if he stayed behind Leach. But he went to the outside instead of staying in the hole.

Only brain fart of the night.
Flacco should have the awareness of Roethlisberger, the elusiveness of Vick, the control of the offense of Manning, the leadership of Brady, the accuracy of Brees, and the arm strength of … Flacco? - Ampallang
Joe's QB sneak?
Or did Mr. JD make you forget that one?
You come at the king, you best not miss.
