Flacco Hit With $7,500 Fine
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was hit with a $7,500 fine by the NFL for a horse-collar tackle on Seattle Seahawks LB David Hawthorne after throwing an interception in the Ravens 22-17 loss last Sunday.

Considering that it saved a touchdown because our defense was OP until the last last drive, Marshawn Lynch deserves credit for being a battering ram but I was disappointed obviously in how the front 7 handled the end of the game, hopefully they bounce back in a big way and crush Cinci’s run game sunday

Okay, I hope this helps clarify the absurdity of the whole fine process..
…and this is NOT post attacking Flacco, the Ravens, or anything, regardless of my football allegiances.
$7,500 fine for Flacco (or any player), for perpetrating a foul that could result in a serious injury to another player, versus
$10,000 fine for Troy (or any player), for talking on a cell phone.
Does this make even a modicum of sense; does this represent in any way any kind of balance?

Yeah, those fines are completely arbitrary. The fact is, the League’s image is far more important than possible injury or anything else they fine.
