LOS ANGELES (Oct. 25, 2011) – Professional football players Ray Rice and Peyton Hillis will appear in television commercials beginning Oct. 26 for RipFire XCELERATE, a popular new pre-workout product offered by leading supplement company RipFire. The direct-response commercials will air in 60-second and two-minute versions, and previews of the spots are available at http://www.youtube.com/user/
Playing for teams within the same division for just one full season, Rice and Hillis have already developed a rivalry that brings added excitement to their two annual meetings. They feature running styles that are as different as they are exciting – Hillis runs with a bruising style fitting for his 6-foot-1, 240-pound frame, while the 5-foot-8, 212-pound Rice is more of a slasher who thrives when he gets into open space.
Rice put up all-pro numbers for Baltimore in 2009, with 1,339 yards and seven scores on 254 rushes plus 78 catches for 702 yards and another touchdown. He followed that performance by totaling 1,776 yards and six TDs in 2010, and has helped Baltimore to the postseason in both his seasons as its featured running back.
Hillis is a third-year standout for Cleveland and last year was among the most versatile offensive threats in professional football – he totaled 13 touchdowns in 2010, third in the league. Hillis rushed for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns on 270 carries, and added 477 yards and two scores on 61 receptions.
Shot during a two-day period in July at a studio in Glendale, Calif., the commercials feature members of "Team RipFire," which in addition to Rice and Hillis includes bodybuilder Kali Muscle, mixed martial arts fighter Matt Horwich, tri-athlete Jennifer Kramer and dancer Danielo Mendes.
"We’re excited to launch the commercial featuring Ray and Peyton," said Stacey Kirsch, RipFire’s brand manager. "They have been terrific spokesmen, and we believe that having them as part of ‘Team RipFire’ will help us reach a broader audience who can benefit from using our product than we’ve ever had. Both Ray and Peyton have had tremendous success early in their professional football careers, and they project the image that we’re trying to establish and enhance."
"Shooting the TV commercial for RipFire was a lot of fun," Rice said. "I’ve filmed other commercials before, but getting to work with Peyton and the rest of ‘Team RipFire’ on this one was a great experience."
Added Hillis: "It’s pretty cool to see the RipFire commercial air on TV after all the hard work we put in. I’m proud to represent the brand."
