Lee Evans Out For Sunday's Game
The Baltimore Ravens released their Friday Injury Report & Game Status for Sunday's home game vs. the Houston Texans and while it looked a lot more promising at the beginning of the week, it appears that the time off may be helping the walking wounded, but not enough to get the healthy for this game. WR Lee Evans (ankle) will not play and rookie CB Jimmy Smith (ankle) will not be making his much anticipated return either.
Joining those two on the sidelines will be safety Tom Zbikowski (head) and CB Chris Carr (thigh). Guard Ben Grubbs (toe) remains "questionable," so it will be a game-time decision for him as to if he will play on Sunday afternoon. Safety Haruki Nakamura (knee), WR/KR David Reed (shoulder), LB Dannell Ellerbe (thigh) and RB Anthony Allen (thigh) are all listed as "probable," which usually means that they will suit up and play.
On the Texans side, other than LB Mario Williams, who is out for the year, WR Andre Johnson (hamstring) has been officially declared out and FB James Casey (chest) is listed as "doubtful," so expect to not see either of these guys Sunday other than on the sidelines in street clothes.

Any veteran WR
could be an upgrade. Hmmm…what about a Reggie Wayne?

I wouldn’t mind. But Wayne on the trading block is just a rumor. Whereas Lloyd on the trading block has been confirmed.

Could always get Mason back – save on the airfare that way… Just lead him to the other sideline at the end of the game…

you guys are absurd
Ever notice how ozzie isn’t as alarmist as you are? More chances for torrey to develop. Evans will be back and he will be effective.

Broncos want a pick in the 3rd to 5th round they said.
On Ed Reed:

I forget the rule exactly,
but don’t we get an additional draft pick this year because we cut so many players (or something to that effect)? If so, why not use it on him?
we do depending on their performance and contract I believe, but we also signed some FA’s which would cancel some of them out. It’s a big formula, but we won’t know if we will be awarded any compensatory picks and if we are we won’t know which round til after the season.

If anything the ravens will be getting conditional draft pick for from the departure of
Dawan Landry and Willis Mcgahee who both are doing good well atleast Mcgahee is he is a monster so far for my fantasy team

yeah I agree with Jimmy and Cary shutting down the other teams WR’s, they’ll make anybody rushing the QB look good - Jaz
we also signed Pollard, Leach, Mckinnie, Gurode, Ricky Williams and don’t know if I’m missing any, so it could end up canceling out any picks we may have received for those players.

Correction, we will not get any compensatory picks for McGahee. We are only eligible to get comp picks for Free Agents that signed with other teams, not players we cut ie. McGahee, Mason, Heap, and Gregg.

I know it's very early in the season (hell, we're just starting the second QUARTER of the season)
but bringing in a decent, veteran WR might be a real possibility we have to look into before the free agency deadline… I love our current WR’s, but saying we’re young is an understatement, especially come playoff time. If Boldin (our only vet WR), is blanketed, we’re relying on rookies… I’m not super confident in that.
When is the last time Ozzie made any moves in-season?
I can’t recall any off the top of my head, it’s just not his style. Evans will be back soon, so will Reed. I don’t see them bringing in another veteran because it would mean cutting one of our young guys or at least putting them on IR, but you have to have some justification for doing that or else the NFL can penalize you.
Well looks like the torrey, David , Laquan, and Tandon show will be broadcast with a little of Boldin if he's open
consistently

that Jonathan Josephs will blanket Anquan all day.

Joseph is good
but I’d hardly say he’s gonna shut down Boldin for the entire game. Boldin will get his catches. I expect Dickson to be the star of the game, with Rice and Boldin both getting 5+ catches as well.
for some reason I feel like Boldin going to be shutdown for the entire game but we wiill see

I have been kinda disappointed in Boldin's production since he's been here
But I still have faith in him. Last year, Cam just refused to play to our receiver’s strengths. This year, I think once Torrey has a couple more good games, and Evans gets healthy, we will see Boldin start to put up bigger numbers.
Boldin does get erased too much, dropped some passes also.

Why not use Dickson as our #3
Then have Pitta as the tight end since he is the better blocker and can also go out for passes along with Rice.
I’m a fan of that idea as well.

they just played hurt more
Because they knew less. I have tibial stress fractures right now and while the pain is tolerable, it would be very unwise to power through it I’m told.

True. But then again you’re not inked to a multi-million dollar contract (although I think you’re more deserving of it for what you do than most of these athletes).

Anyone hear more about Tom Zbikowski?
Last I heard was that it was pretty serious.
The problem with these speed guys is that they’re like race horses. They’re can run like the wind while they’re young and healthy. But you get a couple years on them and the slightest problem is going to mean putting them down. Happened with Stallworth, is happening with Evans and probably will happen with Torrey. It’s just the nature of the beast.
