Ravens Hold Season Ending Press Conference
The Baltimore Ravens held their annual season-ending Press Conference, featuring owner Steve Bisciotti, GM Ozzie Newsome, Head Coach John Harbaugh, and Team President Dick Cass. Termed a "Season Review," the questions seemed more focused on what changes might be made in the off season more than what happened in the season just ended.
Owner Steve Bisciotti answered questions from the media, as he does at this point every season, although he prefers to let the GM and Head Coach handle all questions during the season. He responded to a variety of issues with specific answers, never shying away from stating his opinion. Topics he addressed included fixing the run game, Joe Flacco's progress, his support for Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron, getting the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) done and where he thinks the Ravens stand in relation to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Can you give us one or two specific reasons why the offense underperformed at times this year?
(HARBAUGH) "I probably commented on this more than anybody, and I hold true. You say you want one or two specific things, but that’s not fair. There are a lot of things that come up. But, the thing that I’m focusing on and the process that we have going forward – along with Ozzie and Steve and Dick and really all of our coaches – is to make everything better. But, we need to run the ball better. If we run the ball better and we’re more physical, that opens a lot of possibilities from the passing game, play-calling, [and] gives guys a chance to make plays across the board. So, if I was going to say one thing, I’d say that would be the No. 1 thing we need to focus on going forward."
(SMILEY4660) “Make everything better”? What a cop-out. So cliche there, Harbs…
“Run the ball better”? WTF? How about cutting the most glaring problem and fire Cam Cameron because he made so many poor, seemingly uncalculated calls that got the team no where all season long, especially in the second half of about 10 of our games this season (with Pittsburg being the most recent, thus final game…) 22nd ranked offense with all those weapons! Ridiculous! Incompetence personified!
Anyone successful in an endeavor knows what their weaknesses are and works around them by taking advantage of their strengths. Why couldn’t the coaching staff get that? Seriously?
Perhaps they know something we fans do not,
such as that Joe has a condition that only allowsnhim tpmsee out the sides of his eyes and thus not the middle ofnthe field?

If that's true
It’s clear from your typing that you share the condition.

I think Cam has embarrassing pictures of Bisciotti stashed somewhere
Bisciotti is Italian, get the mob to take Cam out. 2 problems fixed at once.
Slant/Drag
“I think I saw Boldin run a slant/drag just once the entire season.”
Mookie_20 I’m sorry I’ve got to disagree with you on this one, I’ve watched Q run many slants and drag routs this year!! Heck just the other night he caught passes for 130 some yrds. many of which were slants over the middle!!!
Mookie_20 I offer my apologizes to you, I’ve seemed to have got my games confused. See bro my team in madden 11 is the Ravens and I have to confess I don’t use the Ravens play book……hence the slant routs that I speak of. Why of course bro we all know our receivers are forbidden to run any routs, that enable them to catch the ball on the run. I’m very sorry for my Blondie moment..
I really don’t think it will take much to fix our offense. If we get our line healthy and Fire cam, we will make some drastic improvements.

Elite QB
I like the fact that the OWNER of the Ravens acknowledged Roethisberger as an elite QB in the NFL. HA!
Go Steelers!!!
"When he gained control of the ball, the ball was breaking the plane and he fell into the field of play."--referee Walt Coleman
Quit squakin' my little bitter black birds.
Not a stretch putting that label
on a QB who has owned us every time he played us over the past three years.

Just like many Steelers players/coaches etc
acknowledge many Ravens players as elite. I don’t see what’s so funny about it.
As bitter as the end of this season was...
Compare our owner to Skeletor out in Oakland, the Clown out in Cinci, the DC megalomaniac, and any other numerous idiots that have organizations, I think we should all appreciate having an owner that is more determined to win rather than milk the team for as much money as possible. Don’t get me wrong, the dude makes more money off of us than I’ll ever see in my lifetime, but you can’t compare his success here with anyone else with a similar market team, in a similar tough division.

Only issue with that is
Level of expectation. They know and expect to suck in Oaktown, Cincy and the District. We know we should be playing this weekend.

Disagree
Until we actually make it past the first rounds of the playoffs and into a championship game or the SB, any expectation that we should be playing this weekend is based on false assumptions that we are that good. We haven’t proved that we are that good and until we do, I for one will not raise my level of expectation above 1 or 2 PO games and out. So I guess we’re really no different than Oakland or Cincy or DC.

Adding...
We know how good we actually are. If we want to indulge in homer fantasy and speculation and assume we’re better than we’ve proved to be, then have fun, but be prepared to be very very disappointed.
