2011 NFL Mock Draft
SB Nation has already begun to put together their mock of the 2011 NFL Draft. Hopefully, there will be a draft and a Collective Bargaining Agreement will be in place so we can stop all this labor relations stuff and concentrate on football twelve months a year!
You'll be surprised who they see the Baltimore Ravenstaking with the 26th overall pick in the first round. Remember, this obviously will not take into account any draft day trades or free agent signings that might affect each team's draft board. Plus, without a CBA in place, the draft might still occur, but free agency might be held off on until after the draft, for the first time ever.

i'm surprised at the lack of QBs up top
yeah, its probably smart, but so many bad teams are there because they aren’t smart. lots of need, someone could reach
But did you see the run on corners
early in the first round and throughout?

I'm not
Pretty much all of the QBs available in this draft have pretty big flaws and should be considered projects. I think they would all benefit from sitting on the bench for a year (at least) and getting good NFL coaching t try to improve their decision making and accuracy (which are the biggest questions on Newton, Mallet and Gabbert especially).
I think that the QB needy teams would be better off waiting till the early second to pick what QBs are remaining (maybe Mallet, Locker, Devlin etc) to get better value out of their picks
There will be a draft no matter what the CBA’s current state is. On the other hand there will be signing of UDFA until there is a new CBA and it is likely that none of the draft picks will be signed until there is one.
i hadn't even thought about the fact that no one can sign UDFAs
if they don’t get a new CBA done before the draft.
that should make things interesting. i wonder how many undrafted players will get signed when the CBA is done, or if they will all have been forgotten by then.
We don't need 8 in the box. We have 52 in the box.
Don't like the Von Miller pick for us
If we keep Mattison, Miller would not be a good fit for us. Mattison doesnt rush more than 4 (3 down lineman + Suggs usually) all that often so Miller would be asked to go into coverage – something he hasnt shown that he can do all that much. He also inst that great great against the run either IMO.
i would prefer we take either JJ Watt as he could play DE in either our 30 or 40 fronts and would improve our pass rush opposite Suggs and Ngata (which is sorely needed) or Derek Sherrod to improve our OL
Von Miller would be a great pick for us.
Hard to see him lasting that long but if he did it would be a classic Ozzie steal. Many mocks currently have Miler going at 13 to Houston. Miller and Suggs on either side would be a powerful rush combo.
what would this mean for JJ?
could he move inside? which leads me to, who’s going to play next to ray next year? mcclain, ellerbe, gooden… none of those guys stepped up this year.
Jj is a rush guy I don’t know how he would do in the middle. They are optimistic about kindle. If they bring in someone else then that’s tricky.
