It’s funny, Just yesterday I was telling the Bengals over at Cincy jungle just how good he was, and they were a little sceptical, I think this ought to convince them.

+1

I’m completely off my rocker. I did however remember saying he’s a 3rd WR at this point in his career. The 10 personel package just got a little better. If he can keep his thoughts in house I’ll be fine. He still can play.

by Ravens One on Sep 6, 2010 12:48 PM EDT up reply actions

So excited

made a fanpost about this the other day and am really excited to see what else a player like TJ can bring to the table for us. He may not be at the top of his game still, but he still had something like 74 catches last year and can be a great slot receiver, certainly everything we though Stallworth would be

by TurtlePower88 on Sep 6, 2010 11:44 AM EDT reply actions

That exactly what Housh is now

It was a good fan post. I thought you were completely out of your mind. Shows what I know! Who goes down to the practice squad now?

This.

I’m excited to see what he does in his return, especially with the 2 beast corners on the outside.

What’s the downside in having him? We are paying him the veteran minimum.

by mlb32001 on Sep 6, 2010 11:55 AM EDT up reply actions

Worst case scenario, he's gone when Stallworth comes back.

It’s the very definition of a win-win.

He does well, we’ve got one more offensive weapon. He gets a chance to build a case for a paycheck next year.

He doesn’t work out, he’s gone with Stallworth comes back, and the Ravens have paid very little.

Guess it depends on who gets cut

What we needed most at WR is speed and Hoosh is another possession-type receiver. Not sure how that changes our dynamic in the passing game very much.

You know I kind of agree with this

The Mason can make a scene part. That Said, I don’t think TJ threatens Mason. Mason has greater straight-line speed and he quicker out of his breaks.

by Ravens One on Sep 6, 2010 1:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Example:

Week 7 of 2006 season against the Panthers. Mcnair gets knocked out, Steve Smith torches the secondary, Boller(!) leads a comeback with 2 TD passes to Clayton, DMase refuses to run routes on the final drive. I lost a lot of respect for him that day. Then again, he gained that plus more back against Dallas in ’08 when he played and caught passes with one arm….

by Zachary Beard on Sep 6, 2010 1:44 PM EDT up reply actions

I had mixed feelings at first, but I’m really starting to love this move. I especially love it because there is virtually no risk. He only signed a one year contract for the veteran minimum. Thank you, Seattle, for paying him to play for us. I’m starting to think that Ozzie planted a mole in the Seattle front office. Those guys have really helped us out.

Anyway, I hated Housh when he played for the Bengals, but the more I think about it… I realized that his style of play is exactly like the Ravens. He’s a tough, smash-mouth player and should fit right in. As long as he keeps his attitude in check, I cannot see any downside to his signing.

I think you will find

Any guess on who’s gonna cover OUR wideouts??? didn’t think so, but like I said before if you guys make it farther than us, I’ll root my arse off for y’all like I usually have too;), good luck, xcept for against us and more importantly…good health.

Reggie Nelson doesn’t tackle and is bad in coverage. He was supposed to be Ed Reed coming out of Florida, but he’s not even got starter skills.

Housh was a cry baby on the field. I’m guessing he wasn’t the only player that was a problem in the locker room though.

The only skill player on your team I’m worried about is Benson. Your passing game hasn’t been in sink since like 2006.

The Bengals have a helluva CB trio that could rival the Jets and the Saints. I was worried Adam Jones would become Pacman Jones but he’s kept his nose clean thus far and has played really well. Signing another aging receiver to your team doesn’t really strike fear into my heart knowing these three are covering Housh, Mason, and Boldin.

I'd like to think that this is going to be one of the better match-ups each week they meet.

I’ll certainly look forward to it. Carson’s always on his game for the Ravens so it should be an interesting match-up.

clearly

he’s pretty good at taking 20 yard sacks though, so there will always be a place for him somewhere.

Not really. The first NCAA game I saw was about 5 years ago, and Miami just so happened to be playing. I watched the game he whole way through And I was really impressed with Miami, and I have been a fan since.

R.I.P Mark Clayton
His career spanned from 2005-2009. He may now rest eternally.(Or until his career ends.)

You are crazy

But in a good way. Seriously though, Clayton goes from a contender to a cellar dweller. I wish him the best.

I think he is starting for St. Louis actually, because Donnie Avery is injured for the season correct?

Yup

And Bradford could really use a veteran like Clayton. I think future considerations is the compensation.
