now im actually a little worried about this week 1 game. Anquan will be shutdown but i still think we have a chance to win.
Here’s to him being rusty
The Orioles are going to open a can of Buck-Wieser on your ass......

i don't know
i don’t think any player can stay away from all of training camp and preseason and just jump in week one and be himself. you may not see the Revis Island Revis.
IMPEACH DOLAN!!!!
I don't know...
He is pretty intense in his Dick’s commercial.
No so fast partner
I doubt very seriously if Revis “will shut down” Anquan Boldin. Firstly, Boldin is not TO, Randy Moss, Ochocinco, ect. Boldin is a much more competitive player than all those players from play 1 to play 60. I’ve seen Revis “punk” those players and they stoped running their routes hard on the backside of plays.Just took them out of the game psychologically. Secondly, Boldin has faced Revis as a member of the Cardinals in 2008. He wasn’t exactly shut down in the game. Boldin had 10 rec. 110 yds. and 1 TD. Boldin was dominating the Jets secondary physically that entire game until that cheap shot with less than a minute to go. It was a different coaching staff, QB and a pass-happy system but it did happen.
Coaches and players feed the beast by electing to not go at the great player like Revis essentially limiting the success of the offense scheme and playing right into the opponents hand (Go at Revis and test his conditioning). If Q gets his touches he will impact the game. Boldin is too compettive a player to let a player “shut him down”. Not going to happen.
I can appreciate the optimism, but if Revis plays like he did last season, Boldin will be shut down.
It’s as close to a sure thing as there is in football.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one
The good thing though is that we don’t have very long to find out if I’m delusional (I could be).
1. Revis hasn’t had a training camp (although I here he has worked out with Ty Law).
2. Boldin is a competitor
3. Route combinations
4. Play calling
5. Flacco
If the sure thing is to happen as you suggest that it will then it will be a result of 4 of the above I have listed and not Boldin’s lack of abilty to “get open”. I look forward to us winning the game.
Randy Moss couldn't get it done
with Tom Brady throwing to him and Bill Belichick game planning
True (Brady is not Flacco lol)
Has there been questions about the competitor in Randy Moss? The answer is yes! When you take your eye off the ball you notice other things. Randy Moss is a great player just not the most complete (he no longer runs 0-4 inside breaking routes. Welker runs those routes) or competitive. Revis’s job is “easier” against players like Moss.
I see what you’re saying… Boldin will challenge Revis physically while most other number-one wide receivers only challenge him with speed and route-running. Again, I can appreciate the optimism, but Revis is a physical freak himself and doesn’t shy away from contact. He shouldn’t have a problem with Boldin.
If in theory Revis was going to have a problem covering someone it would be a burner
Boldin is a great WR but not the fastest. This looks like it will be one hell of a game

Revis Covers Boldin
Think Rookie Kyle Wilson can Cover Mason?
Wilson is better in man coverage then more then half the NFL, better the Haden
Sure he has some things to learn and Mason will prob out football IQ him, but Wilson is excellent in man coverage.

We have more than Q
Mason, Clayton, or Heap should have a miss match. Worst case Flac checks down to Rice.

according to football outsiders
screens and check downs were the most effective plays against the jets last year
50/50 Chance
Revis goes “Hayensworth” on the Jets and sucks this year. He was playing for a contract. Let’s see where his motivation is now.
doubt it he will be a UFA in 4 years where he could get a lot more money
I say he plays his ass off to show he cares about football. Wether he does or not anyones guess.

4 years is a long time.
Even if he blows for 3, as long as he has a monster year in that final year, someone will pay him. Tis the nature of the beast.

I hear what your saying and that is true if it happened liked that I am sure he would still get paid
I just think having the best CB title is real important to him, I think he will work his but off. If for no other reason then his egg needs him to be the best.

He better watch out.
He’s angered Nnamdi, and now Nnamdi’s out to prove that he’s the best CB in the league, not Revis.

… Nnamdi’s out to prove that he’s the best CB in the league …
I imagine that’s pretty hard to do when nobody throws to your side of the field.
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
Instead
of playing a side this year, he asked Al Davis to cover the best receiver on the field, like Revis does. I imagine it’s a little harder not to throw to your Brandon Marshall than it is not to throw to the left side of the field.

I read that, too. Still, the best cornerbacks tend to be targeted infrequently at best.

Well,
somehow Revis became the best CB, so in that same way, Nnamdi can put his name back in the race. Perhaps we’ll never know which one is THE best CB (if such a thing exists), but they could be considered on somewhat equal ground, similar to Brees and Manning.

Welp
Time to see if Flacco can handle the biggest test thrown at him. A Baptism by fire of sorts, no?
It'll be interesting to say the least
I kinda care, hence why I’m here commenting, but it’s probably the biggest test for Flacco in the season. He’s gotta hit the ground running against last year’s #1 defense and it’ll serve as a good window of his progression in the offseason.
Houshmandzadeh agrees to terms with Ravens
T.J. Houshmandzadeh has agreed to a one-year deal with the Ravens, a league source has told Jason La Canfora.
my comments extend to the lenght of double-U Tee Eff???
Jets Fan Here
Heres mine and many other Jets fans take on what will probably happen next Monday Night, statistically Boldin will probably get 4 catches for 30 yards 0 TDs, your Best Bet would be to test Wilsons ability because in Rex’s system Cro will excell and also test underneath routes to Ray Rice, hes a lil monster and could cause alot of problems for the Jets……i seen a comment posted above that mentioned Boldins 10 catch 110 yd performance the last game against us when he was in Arizona, those stats are nice and all but DID NOT come against Revis, that was Eric Manginas special Cover 2 Zone that he used waaaaay too much, basically those Cardinals WRs including Fitz were getting those completions against our Safetys Smith and Rhodes after they outran the CBs shallow Zone…anyways, this is gonna be a great way to Kickoff the new season, a Playoff Calibur game in Week 1, im excited and im sure all of you are as well, heres to hoping for a great game with little or NO injuries, peace fellas and see ya on MNF !!!!
