Patriots Trade L. Maroney to Broncos
The NFL Network just announced that the New England Patriots have traded RB Lawrence Maroney to the Denver Broncos. The Pats traded Maroney and a sixth round pick to the Broncos for a fourth round pick.
Denver needs running backs as they always seem to get injured and Maroney had fallen out of favor with head coach Bill Belichick over the past year or so.
In other news, Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant is done for the season as is Jets DT Kris Jenkins. Some tough losses for key players on expected playoff contenders. Cross your fingers, Ravens fans!

The Patriots got a fourth round pick for Maroney?
I don’t care if they got a sixth round pick back, the Broncos just got trade raped again.

how many RBs have the Broncos acquired this summer?

Yeah, they did.
Even if Maroney wasn’t hurt all the time, this trade would still be a steal. Maroney is average at best and definitely won’t be Denver’s best option, so why is he worth a 4th round pick?
Fred Taylor probably.
But the Pats really don’t have a “feature” back. Faulk plays 3rd downs, Morris comes in, they even give the ball to Green-Ellis.

this trade was a no-brainer for them
there’s really no reason to have Maroney when the ball is going to Faulk, Taylor, Morris, and Law Firm.

Especially
with how big of a disappointment Maroney has been.

There were moments he looked special. In the 07 Ravens Pats game, he showed flashes of being a special player. Willis McGahee is what Lawrence Maroney should have been.
Now he’s lost some speed and can’t steal carries from guys 5 years older than him. Bust.

Maroney and Marion Barber
were amazing in college for Minnesota (rght?). Maroney will probably be decent in Denver as they are always finding new RBs to star there.

They have Tim Tebow.
Why do they need a RB?

Do they really need one?
They’ve been doing the running back by committee thing for years, besides Maroney is no feature back in this league.
Willis McGahee is what Lawrence Maroney should have been.
…dunno, just wanted to copy someones quote and say their stupid. no offense.
