Help Get Art Modell into Hall of Fame
For the second consecutive year, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is asking fans to voice their choice for who they think should be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, via a dedicated online fan forum.
Readers can make their voice heard by casting their ballot for Deion Sanders, Shannon Sharpe and Art Modell at www.fanschoice.com and may find themselves announcing the Fan’s Choice Class of 2011 in Dallas this February.
A team of Hall of Famers including campaign spokesman Steve Young, Harry Carson, Warren Moon, Roger Staubach and Jerry Rice (who was selected by fans for the inaugural Fan’s Choice Class of 2010), will be in New York City to kick off the campaign and cast the first ceremonial vote in Times Square while encouraging fans to let their voice be heard. A photo from the group casting their vote this morning is attached.
The Van Heusen Pro Football Hall of Fame Fan’s Choice campaign is educating and empowering fans like never before with the most in-depth coverage on the 130+ candidates, aggregated Hall of Fame news from across the country, robust discussion boards incentivized voting and opinions and insights from Hall of Famers. Highlights on fanschoice.com include:
FAN PAYOFF: Details on how to win will be revealed over the course of the season at www.fanschoice.com, but ultimately one lucky fan will earn the opportunity to announce the Fan’s Choice Class of 2011 alongside Steve Young in Dallas.
SMACK TALK: For those fans who want to voice their opinions beyond the traditional message board, they can "Phone It In." Users call a toll free number and their audio message will be posted to the website.
FAN’S CHOICE BLOG: Videos, events, photos and blog entries penned weekly by Hall of Famers.
VOTE: Users can vote as often as they want – the more you vote, the more you win. Users earn points for voting and getting their friends to vote.
PRIZES: Points earn you prizes – from signed helmets to discounts to entries into the sweepstakes.
Sweepstakes prizes include a chance to play at the Legends Golf Invitational at Pebble Beach or attend the 2011 Hall of Fame Induction weekend celebration.
Although the fans vote does not count toward the official selection, this is the place for fans to be heard and join the debate.

Maybe we should take this over to Dawgs By Nature.
I’m sure they’d be willing to help out in any way they can.
I got an email from a Cleveland fan on this:
“Art Modell is a piece of shit. Hall of Fame? What a joke. Email Tony Grossi and argue with him over why Art Modell should be in the hall of fame. He’ll lay it out for you.”
Here was my response:
"Tony Gross is a lot worse for his personal goal to block Art from the HOF. Modell would have been in it by now and the only reason he’s hated is that he moved the team. After what he’s done in and for the NFL, other lesser owners get in but he remains out. Disgusting argument which only furthers Cleveland’s embarrassment to the NFL. Different views I guess. Peace anyway. "

And I would think that Mike Brown would have to try and block Modell from the HOF.
On behalf of his father, Paul Brown. Art really screwed Paul Brown and stabbed him in the back. This is one reason Mike Brown doesn’t hire a GM, on fear of somebody doing what Modell did to his father. It would never happen these days, but he was instructed by Paul Brown to run the franchise himself and keep it in the family. Let no outsiders in the front office.
It also seems that Modell made a living screwing people around the league, within his franchise. Also a city.. It caught up to him and he had no other option but to move the franchise, hence the Baltimore Ravens. He’s always been a swindler.
Modell had no choice
when the Cleveland Mayor White told him they wouldn’t build a stadium for him, hich they did as soon as he eft. Had they built t, he’d still be there and we’d be gasping for an NFL franchise, as Tagliabue hated us and who knows what Goodell would have done.

Right before he made his decision to move
they had agreed to build the stadium. That was a fact. Modell desided b/c of money purposes that he would move it anyways. He screwed the city b/c the city thought he was staying pryor to him moving. It just wasn’t in wrighting yet. It was verbal.
Also a city…
That’s a very generous way to describe Cleveland. Art Modell got out of a sinking ship while he could. Cleveland has lost half of its population since the 1950’s; there’s nothing un-Clevelander about looking for greener pastures.
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
And Cleveland is just as big of a football town as Shitzburgh.
just on the losing end of things. They still sell out games.
I hate Cleveland too but facts are facts..
