Scouting the Ravens from a Jets' Perspective
I did a scouting report on the Monday Night Football matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets, for a website called jetsfan.com and they put it up with their own scouting reort on tonight's game. The difference in the two polar opposite perspectives are interesting, somewhat similar yet both with different outcomes, which should come as no surprise to either team's fan base.
Check it out to see my comments as well as their take on the game.
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

Um...it's not a good read
From a good football perspective, it’s poorly written. They say they need to double team Ray Lewis? Really? I think a double team would be needed more on Ngata (which they also say needs to be mentioned) or helping D’Brickashaw against T-Suggs.
Double team Ray Lewis, Double team Ngata…In a standard max protect (7 blockers and 3 pass catchers) that leaves 3 players to block Suggs, the DT, the other DE, whoever is in at Will, and J. J…I’m not a numbers guy, but I don’t think that’s a well put together scouting report.
I sort of agreed
as I saw no mention of Ngata anywhere in attacking our defense. They’ll know all about Haloti by the time the game is over, tho.

Haloti had his sack
which was a great play. Now they know.

There was no need to double team Suggs today. He got owned by Brick

The sack was huge.
But I can’t count how many times I looked up at the top of the screen to see Suggs absolutely stonewalled one-on-one by Brick.

He also led the team with six tackles
Considering that he went against one of the better LT’s in Ferguson, I thought Suggs played well overall. Sure he got stonewalled some, but he got his, and was a major factor in the game.
My comment was poorly worded then.
I expect much more out of Suggs than tackles because this team needs more. Suggs has to get pressure, or at least take a double team so someone else can get there. I was disappointed by his failure to get to the QB. Granted, I forgot about Brick holding (too many penalties for me to remember). According to Jets fan, his sack came against Woody.
I understand that he’s probably the best OLB/DE playing the run. I just want him to be superman. Also, missing tackles on LT is not allowed.

Most Jet fans know who Ngata is even before his sack
He is an absolute beast who should be included in ny game plan against the Ravens
