Koch has a 1.7 distance average over Weatherford. Game set, match.
The Jets are joke. They’re a .500 team. Sanchez is a face NY hoped to morph into Namath. He’s a BIG nothing with the ball in his hands. He doesn’t have the character to overcome a slow start. If he hits a few early his girlish excitement might keep his team in it for a half. That’s it.
Revis had 2 more picks than Landry. WOW. What a game breaker. Oh please, teams don’t throw at him waah waah waah. He’s a 1 year wonder who stole money from the Jets with this contract. They show the same 3 interceptions on ESPN with all of them coming off some fluke bounce of the ball. Thank you ESPN for increasing the salary of these bums. Jokes on the Jets. I hope this game makes that fat head fire helmet no life gag on his friends 1/2 smoked.
You show your football iq if your assesment of Revis has anything to do with how many picks he has
He could have zero pick picks and still be in consideration as the best CB in the league and command huge money.

Regarding Revis, it isn’t a matter of picks. The guy shut down [nearly] every #1 receiver in the league so much that the QB never threw to him. Asomugha experienced that same success a couple years ago, hence his $ 45 mil contract. I remember playing him. Shutdown.
What I’m saying is, Revis is the shit.
I can’t deny the talent that Revis has. He truly is a shutdown CB. But he can’t cover Boldin, Mason, and Housh can he? Not to mention how dangerous Ray Rice is catching passes out of the backfield. It may be a bit of a gamble to say this, but I’m betting that we flat out embarrass your defense. But only time will tell right? See you Monday…

we won't embarass them
but I do think we will get it done in a few key spots where the Jets offense won’t.

Embarrass our defense?
That’s not happening, Obviously you guys are extremely talented and could very well win, but our defense is in a league of it’s own. This is a team that led the league in pass defense…by over 30 yards. 150 yards a game. Boldin is neutralized. Cromartie will limit Mason for most of the game. And I like Wilson’s chances on Housh. Rice does worry me; but it’s not to the point where he will “embarrass” the best defense in the league.
I understand the term “embarrass” may rub you the wrong way. But with as much trash talk as there is coming from your players/fans/coach, it wouldn’t take much to make you eat your words. If Flacco threw for 200 yards and Rice ran for 100, then I would consider that an embarrassment. Mainly because of how much stock you guys are putting in your defense.

These actually are untrue. QBs threw at Revis at an incredible rate, 6th highest in the league.
Revis had 2 more picks than Landry. WOW. What a game breaker. Oh please, teams don’t throw at him waah waah waah.
Regarding Revis, it isn’t a matter of picks. The guy shut down [nearly] every #1 receiver in the league so much that the QB never threw to him.
In fact that is what made his performance (minus the low interceptions) probably the first of its kind in the history of the league.
From FO:
Revis had a very rare mix of both quality and quantity. He led the league in Adjusted Yards per Pass and Success Rate, which is impressive enough by itself, but what was more impressive is that he still drew the sixth-highest target rate of any defensive back in the league. He was consistently able to convince quarterbacks to throw in his direction, and yet, effective enough to prevent those passes from being completed. That raises his value compared to a player like Nnamdi Asomugha, whose greatness simply funnels targets over to the other, weaker players on the roster…
…Revis allowed an adjusted average of 3.5 yards per pass. The average for qualifying corners was 7.5, while the standard deviation was 1.37. The Z-Score represents how many standard deviations above or below the mean the statistic in question was; in this case, Revis was 2.9 standard deviations below the mean. If we apply the same analysis to his Success Rate, we find that he was 3.0 standard deviations above the mean (above, in this case, because a high Success Rate is good, while a high Average Yards per Pass is bad). Splitting the difference between the two suggests that Revis was playing at a level 2.95 standard deviations better than the average cornerback.
Now, keep in mind that Revis was also targeted on 96 passes, the fifth-most of any corner in the league. If we look at the fifth-most frequently used players at quarterback, running back and wide receiver, and adjust their statistical lines on a per-play basis to be 2.95 standard deviations above the average performance by a qualifying player at their position, the results are staggering (Table 2). A player playing at Revis’ level while getting a comparable usage rate at a different position in 2009 would have set the NFL passing record by nearly 500 yards, beat out Jerry Rice for the single-season receiving record, or run for 2,000 yards while averaging a record-tying 6.4 yards per carry.

and wasn't he like right at the top of the league in passes deflected?
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
bottom line
raven is the only one of us here who question Revis’ value. The rest of us know what he is about.
My question is this. How many times have the Ravens or the Steelers been the #1 defense in the league since 2000? Between either of those teams, it must be like 4 or 5 times that one has finished first in defense. I know we were first in 2006, they were first in 2008, and there’s a few other years in there for each team.
Now ask yourself, how many times did they repeat as the top defense in the league? Zero. It doesn’t really ever happen. I’m not saying there’s some automatic huge drop off in performance, but it is hard to sustain performances like that, even when you have much of the same personnel that helped you to be successful in the first place.
So before you go assuming that your #1 Defense from last year will continue to be the #1 this year, you should consider that. You clearly have a shot at being #1, but so do we, so does Pittsburgh, and so do several other teams.
The point isn’t that your defense sucks, because obviously it will be very effective this year. The point is that, for all intents and purposes, both of our defenses are more or less on equal footing heading into Monday night.

o yeah I like the Ravens d
Both have added through the draft ect.
.
On the Jets d- Not sure if they will be the best stats wise but I am pretty convinced that they will be real good. As long as they help win football games thats really all I hope for.

You guys might win.
But you’ll have to hold our offense to less than 17 points I don’t see the Ravens moving the ball consistently on us.
I think yaw will get three field.goals. and we will score twice with a few field goals.

You're probably right...
I’m sure our 3 Pro Bowl receivers, Pro Bowl halfback & fullback, and Pro Bowl tight end will all struggle to move the chains whatsoever. I doubt we’ll even rack up a 100 yards of total offense. Hell, we should just punt the ball on first down and just wait for Dirty Sanchez to throw a couple pick six’s, because our offense is doomed!

Honestly...
I could see our offense giving up more points to than our defense. C’mon guys the Ravens haven’t played one game and you guys act like they’re elite. We got our second best defensive player back and bolstered our secondary, so yes we have a better defense than last year. Oh, and last year’s defense held the Saints to 10 points defensively; so like I said I don’t see you guys scoring more than 20.
C’mon guys the Ravens haven’t played one game and you guys act like they’re elite.
Oh the irony. Both of us are going off what we saw last year, and we never really got shut down last year by any team we played. Obviously your defense is great but ours is too. The difference here will be QB play. Our QB can avoid killer mistakes. Yours can’t. If we force him to throw, we will win. Simple as that.
Ravens, 20-9.

The Ravens have a very good defense.
But you guys are weak at corner, whereas we have the best secondary in the league…Flacco might not have as much success, and Sanchez might not suck as bad lol. One thing to note: Sanchez plays extremely well in big games, I think this qualifies.
What are a few past "big games?"
And what qualifies as playing “extremely well?”
