Second-year cornerback Lardarius Webb was taken off the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list today, Monday, August 23rd. This comes at a time when the Ravens' secondary's capabilities have been harshly questioned after not acquiring any new starters following the loss of Dominique Foxworth, who is out for the season.
On Sunday, the Ravens allowed 206 passing yards to Redskins starting quarterback Donovan McNabb. Although much of this has been blamed on a linebacker corps that has looked lost in coverage at times, allowing 5 plays of over 23 yards cannot be placed on the linebackers alone.
This settles any dispute as to whether or not Webb would be ready for the season opener in New York versus the Jets. Webb and Washington can both be expected to play, and Webb could possibly start. The only question remains, with such a fast recovery time, how long will it take for Webb to truly return to 100%?
