I’ll have an in depth review of these up tomorrow morning. It is rather interesting how they come up with these.

"However, the true greatness of the Ravens’ line lies in their malevolence, led by right end Haloti Ngata. Simply put, Ngata can’t be blocked by mere mortals. He is not a product of the human species. He is really a creation of a building contractor, made of cinderblocks and some type of flesh-like covering. Throw in Kelly Gregg at nose tackle and behemoth rookie Terrence Cody and you have something truly frightening."

As a diehard Madden fan

I’m curious to see if our overall rating is taking into account acquisitions like Graham, Hamlin, and Bulger.

It doesn’t look like it, because none of our last 5 free agent signings are on the roster in this. Some crazy stuff I will bring up tomorrow.

Well that’s lame considering 4 of the 5 are former Pro Bowlers. I’m sure that wouldve brought up the overall rating.

Ray Rice speed is a 89….thats funny because i swear he burnt Meriwether(speed 91) for about 70 yards.

by Raven_all_day on Jul 6, 2010 2:49 PM EDT reply actions

Webb is too low at 74

I am glad to see Landry is finally getting some respect with an 82.

Also, anyone else notice if your a white guy your swagger pretty much sucks?

by DT711 on Jul 6, 2010 2:50 PM EDT reply actions

Landry should be higher than a 82

by Raven_all_day on Jul 6, 2010 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe so

But its a vast improvement from last year when he was a 70 I think.

by DT711 on Jul 6, 2010 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions

I think it’s funny that Flacco is rated as highly as Roethlisberger and Palmer.

88 – Roethlisberger
87 – Palmer
87 – Flacco

I agree with Flacco being equal to Palmer, but I’m not sure that Flacco is on Roethlisberger’s level yet.

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 6, 2010 3:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Yup

Fully Agree. I bet they docked Ben for his off field issues. He should be higher then Palmer and Flacco for sure.

by DT711 on Jul 6, 2010 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

glad some Ravens fans agree with me here

I was gonna come here and complain about how close Flacco is to Ben (as well as Rice’s speed).
But you guys got that covered.

fun fact: before Ben was suspended they released a top 10 QBs preview thing, Ben was on there as a 91. Don’t know they changed it. Perhaps they think the suspension will affect his physical abilties.

Also, Ray Rice should have AT LEAST 92 speed.

Still think Reed and Polamalu should both be 99.

by shleeve on Jul 6, 2010 9:46 PM EDT up reply actions

also

now that i look at it. Flaccos throwing skills are better than Bens. Take awareness out of the equation (which only matters if the cpu is using them anyway) and Flaccos the better QB.

He has more throwing power and equal passing accuracy, with a significant edge in the deep ball. Bens better with scrambling but hes not really fast enough to be much of a factor in that category in Madden anyway.

by shleeve on Jul 6, 2010 9:57 PM EDT up reply actions

I guess the game producers didn’t like what happened in the offseason and held it against him a little bit. I’m alright with that. He is / was a very sketchy guy. They held it against Stallworth too, he’s a 68 overall. One notch about D. Williams. I’m alright with that too.

by BmoreBlitz on Jul 7, 2010 8:44 AM EDT up reply actions

though in all honesty

Stallworth hasn’t had a good year in awhile, Ben had a great season last year.

by shleeve on Jul 7, 2010 1:46 PM EDT up reply actions

What do you define as a good season? Yes Stallworth never lived up to the #1 WR he should have been judging by the fact that he was a first round draft pick, but he has done fairly well during his time in the NFL. If he is going to give us the 40 catches, 700-800 yards and 5tds like he has averaged over his career as our #3 next year, I think everyone on this blog will be damn happy with that.

Stallworth use to produce for the Saints...

but he wasn’t anything special for the Pats or Eagles. And he totally sucked for the Browns.

true, i about said that while typing that message

but it has been awhile since Stallworth was producing anything, thats my point.

As a strong ben hater,

I honestly think he deserved a score somewhere in the range of 92-94, anything would just be too hard to admit but despite his horrible offseason he put together a very impressive season, he threw for over 500 yards! against a very good Green Bay defense, that was actually one of my favorite games of the season, minus the whole game winning TD part.

glad you reluctantly agree

when Ben haters agree his rating is too low then you know Donny Moore is retarded.

Also, anyone else notice if your a white guy your swagger pretty much sucks?

Yeah… Why is Zbikowski’s swagger 45? I would have given him a 75 at the least. That guy’s tough as nails.

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 6, 2010 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Gregg and JJ

Also have really low swagger ratings. How does Billy Cundiff have more swagger then Gregg and Zib and about the same as JJ? He is a damn kicker!

by DT711 on Jul 6, 2010 3:15 PM EDT up reply actions

You know Cundiff… He kicks with an attitude.

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 6, 2010 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Is JJ really that slow? He should atleast be a 85….After a season like that, if he isnt noticed bynow he will never be, he isn’t flashy or nothing; I feel sorry for my mans.

by Raven_all_day on Jul 6, 2010 8:56 PM EDT up reply actions

what is swagger suppose to help with on the game though?

by Raven_all_day on Jul 6, 2010 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I am still trying to figure that out.

Rice only a 90?

Wow, I would have thought at least 93-95.

by mlb32001 on Jul 6, 2010 3:05 PM EDT reply actions

Ditto

He should be right behind CJ and AP.

"Times have not become more violent. They have just become more televised."

by StuckInUtah on Jul 6, 2010 3:09 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

He should also be behind

Steven Jackson and MJD, but only those 4 IMO. They have all performed at an extremely high level for years. I think Rice should have been a 92, and thats without my purple glasses on.

by DT711 on Jul 6, 2010 3:13 PM EDT up reply actions

They probably thought that much of Rice’s success could be attributed to the Ravens’ excellent offensive line. It didn’t seem to matter who the Ravens started at running back in some games. They all were successful at times.

Obviously, I love Rice, but I think that they have his rating about right for now. They could have made is acceleration a bit higher in my opinion. Remember that much of Rice’s production came as a receiver, and Madden ratings for running-backs weight receiving stats (catching, route-running) much lower than actually running-back stats (carrying, trucking, elusiveness).

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 6, 2010 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions

They could have made is acceleration a bit higher in my opinion.

Nevermind, his acceleration is 97. That’s about right. He’s one of the fastest guys in 10 yards. I thought that I read 93 at first.

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 6, 2010 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions

I like Landry at 82. C’mon, he’s no that great. It’s hard to complain about a 97, but Ed Reed is the best safety ever. Doesn’t that earn a 99?

Webb a 74? I guess the Madden guys haven’t watched his tape. The guy can cover.

Guys

Feel free to comment all you want here, but tomorrow am, Mr MaLoR is posting an in-depth story with some great links and info on this.

Ray Rice suffers from a missing attribute.

balance, its long been missing in Madden. And his balance is amazing.

by shleeve on Jul 6, 2010 9:49 PM EDT reply actions

Agreed.

I think that agility is what they’re using now, but I agree about the balance stat. That’s a good idea.

by BAL_Hawk on Jul 7, 2010 7:09 AM EDT up reply actions

well

agility is the players ability to turn on a dime, change direction. Balance would be his ability to stay on his feet after getting pushed around, which is what Rice does best.

Though agility really doesn’t do a damn thing in madden anyway because everyone can turn on a dime in that game.

They do crazy 360 front flips mid game and you just get sucked into their arms. Hope they fixed many of the glitches.

doubt it

although I’ll probably buy the game I have little faith in their ability to fix everything. And don’t even get me started on the problems with the 3-4 in Madden.

Unfortunately, I enjoy football and video games too much not to buy it.

by shleeve on Jul 7, 2010 9:20 PM EDT up reply actions

The 3-4 is the worst in Madden. Play an entire season using Terrell Suggs and I will bet you don’t get more than 6 sacks in the season. OLB are useless in a 3-4 in Madden, as I think we have discussed already.

we have discussed this

but my hatred for the lack of accuracy with the 3-4 effectiveness never subsides. Gameflow? wtf is that? Give me an accurate game then work on your gimmicks.
OLBs in the 3-4 might be the most useless players in Madden.
