Ravens First Full Team Practice Today
Despite the fact that the Baltimore Ravens Training Camp started this past Tuesday morning, today is the team's first practice with all the veterans in camp and ready to go. The pace will increase and the rookies who got all the reps will take a backseat tot he starters and veterans. This should also draw the first huge crowd of the camp, despite the new autograph policy that has many rumbling about it.
However, the expectations for 2010 may not even have been this high before and the buzz will be around the team's revamped offense and of course, it's always highly ranked defense. I will be around the fringes of the field, getting news, notes, photos and quotes from the players and coaching staff. Look for my first post sometime between the morning and afternoon sessions.
The 2010 NFL season starts now!

Let me know
if there is any specific question and/or player you want me to get a question to and I’ll give it a shot. If’ you’re out there in Westminster, yell to me and I’ll turn around and say “Hey” to my fellow Beatdown-ers (?)!

Do you feel you can do what CJ did last year?

Anyone else see Fabian is off the PUP
Washington off PUP list
Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington passed his physical Thursday and was taken off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
Washington is expected to be suited up Friday, when the Ravens have their first full-team practice of training camp. This is exciting news for the Ravens because he is expected to start at cornerback along with Domonique Foxworth.
On Wednesday, Washington told reporters that he was “very close” to coming off the PUP. Washington tore his ACL in a 17-15 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 22. He didn’t practice with the team this entire offseason.
Donte' Stallworth
It would be great if you could ask Stallworth a question about how comfortable he feels in the Ravens Offense, and with Flacco specifically.
If you can’t get him for a question, could you please get us an update on how good he looks? I remember how dynamic he was back when he had McNabb and ofcourse, he might not be back to that level, but i’d love to know how you would rate him.
While no youngster,
Stallworth looks every bit the young WR stud, with his dreads and solid body for a speed burner, with an attitude of something to prove to the world. Everyone else’s loss is our gain!

Foxworth Tears ACL, out for season...
I think its time for a trade.
what would you give for Nnamdi?
raiders not really contenders this year, I’m sure we could come up with a deal and get him into camp in time to learn our system.
His contract is so huge
It would most likely (depending on new CBA) preclude us from resigning our own guys, ie; Haloti Ngata.
That is
If we even could meet the massive demands Oakland would want for him. Plus, the Raiders truly believe they are AFC West contenders, and I actually can see it. I doubt they would trade him for anything short of a Herschel Walker type deal.
Get rid of McGahee and his huge contract.

You could ask what the hell Hard Ball is putting in the water that all our damn CB’s keep tearing their damn ACLs!!!!
Damn It!
Yeah what’s up that mess! I’m officially depressed.
Just got back.
Team looked pretty good today, I’m really worried about our secondary though. Aside from Landry we really don’t have one starter that is at 100%.
Just got the espn text. Foxworth out for season

damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn damn.
Maybe Washington and Webb will be ready to go by the opener and Carr can play Nickle with this Prince Miller kid emerging at camp.
ASk Zbikowski
so we can finally settle the debate…
“In college, were you really a FS or were you mostly playing a SS role?”

Maybe we'll move one of our safeties
to corner to give us help there.

i'd be surprised
I’m guessing Prince or KJ gets a real shot. I sortof have to agree with Harbs that I’m excited to see who makes the most of their big shot.

Which safety on our roster
Would be an upgrade over anything we have at corner now?
Not Zib, Reed wouldn’t happen for obvious reasons, same with Landry. Hamlin can’t play CB at this stage in his career.
Ruki would not work out. The transition from corner to safety is natural and done often. Players rarely, if ever, transition from safety to corner.
Maybe they do it with a young guy to have an extra body at CB in camp.
Torn Acl's...
Maybe its the shoes!!!!It might sound alittle goofy, but when you have perfectly healthy players going down, there is a reason other then the players themselves…it could be the shoes, anybody got a better solution?Think about the difference in positions,cb’s back pedal and make cuts, linebackers do some, but with shorter drops and less full speed cuts then cb’s.Lineman are sraight head for the most part,so could it be the shoes?
Maybe
Maybe a combination of turf surface and the shoes. From what I understand, most cleats nowadays have changeable spikes for different surfaces -maybe the DB’s are using the wrong spikes/cleats for the surface they are practicing on?
I agree it sounds far-fetched, but one never knows.
