Mack Brown says Sergio Kindle has narcolepsy
There were reports prior to the NFL draft, where Kindle was picked in the second round, that the Dallas native suffers from narcolepsy, attention deficit disorder and that he fell asleep during team meetings.
The Ravens, specifically general manager Ozzie Newsome and director of college scouting Eric DeCosta, seemed amused when asked about the reports that Kindle takes medication for narcolepsy and ADD. Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder involving sleeping issues.
"If it was a concern, we probably wouldn't have drafted him," DeCosta said.

trading down wasnt the problem...
but this pick might be.
To be fair the Ravens did try to trade up and get a corner, there were no dealers.
It didn’t stop him from being a stud on the field in college… assuming he can make it back to the field, it shouldn’t stop him now. Just make sure this fool buy’s a rancher as his first house.

Falling asleep in nfl meetings won’t cut it at all. I’m still waiting to be sold on Kindle. Texas players don’t have a history of living up to expectations. For example: M. Huff, V. Young, R. Williams(wr), R. Williams (rb), L. Sweed etc… I read a report that Texas players are treated like Gods and it is especially difficult for them to make the switch to the NFL. I hope he gets well and becomes a beast. I don’t expect it though.

Excellent point about Texas NFL prospects
I think you’ll be able to add Colt McCoy to that list down the road. I’m not convinced he has Blue-chip NFL tools. I think Kindle and Safety Earl Thomas will buck the trend. Both players seemed to more motivated and have all the tools unlke some other Texas prospects in recent history.
McCoy has a chip on his shoulder, mind.

That picture is hilarious. Between this, the ‘bama guy’s signature, and Baltimore Warrior’s egregious overreactions to every bit of news over the past week or so, I can’t remember the last time I was so entertained by the Beatdown.

Think about this for a second
Miami traded their 2nd round pick for Brandon Marshall. We could have done that instead of trading our 3rd and fourth away for Boldin. That would have left us with B-marsh and a 1st,3rd,4th,5th,6th,and 7th round pick. If we would’ve done that instead of trading trading down and getting Boldin; we could have a younger more athletic WR and a 1st round draft pick we could have used on Cody. And we could still get Pitta, Dickson, etc… This way we wouldn’t have wasted a pick on a player with attention problems and a season ending injury. Am i the only one who thinks that would have been the better move?

Are you serious? (Not sure if your playing of Amp's comment)
I thought this topic was dead. We could not afford, nor wanted to give Marshall a contract paying him nearly 12 million! a year.
Please let it die man. Boldin hasn’t even played a game for us. He is a perfect match for the Ravens hard nose, team oriented, style. Marshall is not.
Boldin is going to put in work this year.

I’m just saying if we did i that way we wouldn’t have an injured Kindle right now.

They probably wouldn’t have been able to get Dickson or Pitta before the trade with Denver because that trade allowed them to move up in the third and fourth rounds. Here’s the point… The Ravens basically drafted two first round talents instead of just one. Kindle and Cody are first round talents and probably would have been high picks in an average draft class. Because the draft class was so deep due to the uncertainty over next year’s rookie pay cap, players in the second round were as talented as first rounders in most other classes. Should they have traded down? Absolutely!
They received Boldin for basically moving down 18 slots… that’s it. They didn’t even give up a pick. As I said above, moving down 18 places in that deep draft was worth much less than other drafts. So, lets use logic here… There were first round players throughout the second round, and players taken in the first weren’t much more talented than second rounders. That means moving down was worth much less but the actual picks were worth more than ever. Therefore, the best trade scenario is if you can gather more picks (worth more than ever) by simply moving down a few picks (worth less).
Furthermore, Miami had to make Marshall, who is a huge character risk by the way, the highest paid receiver in the league (5-year $47 million). Boldin signed for much less (4-year $28 million). Boldin is a better leader and a more dependable player.
The Ravens clearly made the best possible moves during the off-season, and we shouldn’t be jumping to these ridiculous conclusions just because their top pick had an accident (which no one foresaw) and their second pick took an extra day to pass his conditioning test. Let’s use some logic and think more than one week ahead.

To enhance your point
I’m pretty sure Marshall got a four year (rather then five) deal for $47 million.
It’s 5 years…
From Rotoworld:
4/14/2010: Signed a five-year, $47.3 million contract. The deal contains $12.5 million guaranteed, including a $5.5 million signing bonus and $6 million of Marshall’s 2012 salary barring a league suspension in the first three years. 2010: $4 million, 2011: $6.5 million (+ $3 million roster bonus due 4/2), 2012: $9 million, 2013-2014: $9.1 million, 2015: Free Agent
I stand corrected
I was going of this, put it was probably put out before contract specifications were finalized…
Marshall and the Dolphins subsequently agreed on a four-year, $47.5 million contract extension that includes $24 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source. The deal includes close to $29 million in the first three years of the contract and makes Marshall the highest-paid receiver in NFL history. Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald previously had the richest deal of any receiver, averaging $10 million per season.
hmmm… I honestly don’t know which report to believe. It could be either. The point is that Miami paid him a ton of money compared to what Baltimore is paying Boldin.
Key word: EXTENSION
Both Boldin and Marshall were under contract, Boldin straight out and Marshall bec he signed his tender. They each signed extensions, marshall for 4 years, and boldin for 3, which essentially made their contracts 5 years and 4 years respectively.

Marshall is making almost double Boldin’s contract. He also cost 2 2nd rounders. Boldin cost a 3rd rounder and the swap of a 4th for a 5th. So besides the attitude problems Marshall brings, he also would have cost more picks and more money. I would rather have Boldin over Marshall and have more money to pay Ngata and/or Gaither next offseason.
Marshall: 4 year, 47.5 million (24 million guaranteed)
Boldin: 4 years 28 million (3 year extension, 25 million, 10 million guaranteed)

Boldin-marshall
marshall will always be a diva. he can catch the, ball but then it’s all about him.
Boldin is a man.
Wow. This is surprising news, considering how well he did in college.
