Terrence Cody Has Reportedly Passed Conditioning Test
Only one day after failing his conditioning test, Terrence Cody has reportedly passed. Fabian Washington wrote, "Big Cody passed his conditioning test. Woooooooooooo" on his Twitter account.
As I said yesterday, I believe that the Ravens did the right thing by sending Cody a early message about his conditioning. I fully expect him to work hard and take his weight seriously after this incident.

hey i was just stating the simple fact that him failing the conditioning test wasn’t good. But now he passed it, so that’s good.

Yeah he had a couple of Bengals and Steelers fans concerned.

Yeah, Harbaugh jokingly said at his press conference after the AM session,
that usually when he hears a guy failed the test, he’s surprised. However, this time he said, “I was surprised that he did pass the test!”

Damn
With weight-loss this quick, he should be the new face of nutri-system D

bama fan here...
and i’d like to get a clarification on this. the response by most folks in the wake of this news was OMG FATTY GOT A FAT PROBLEM! but it seems that’s not the case at all…
but reading a bit further it seems cody had trouble with a very specific drill, not a weigh-in. digging even deeper into the matter we find out it’s a speed test.
According to Harbaugh, players are required to run 25 yards up and back three times under a specified time. In between one interval (a total of 50 yards), the players receive a 70-second break. The times are modified for each position.
at alabama weight was an issue for the man but he was always cited for his quickness despite his bulk, not his overall speed. so the more i read about this the more i’m convinced it’s just bored beat reporters looking for something to spice up their camp columns.
the clarification, then, is about if there is a weight component to his contract? given the concern about his bulk i would assume the ravens tied his ability to control it to his paycheck – not to the more general umbrella of team conditioning standards. but i haven’t seen anything on it at all. anyone have info on this?

I doubt there is a weight component to his contract. I could be wrong, but that just sounds a little too ridiculous to include in a contract. If Cody were to come in overweight during an off-season, I am sure it would mean that he is not going to play and won’t receiving those bonuses for playing a certain amount of snaps.
Kelph, you have been a great informer for us with Cody and I can tell you this much, we would not have drafted Cody if we had all these concerns about his weight as it seems so many other people outside of our organization do. He was going to pass this test, we all knew it, and he is going to see the field. No way Ozzie Newsome would allow for this guy to be sitting on the sidelines.
Cody and Motivation
His contract is only paying $3.385 million over four years, so playing well enough to earn a big pay day in four years should be incentive enough for him to stay in shape. I mean, thats a ton of money in the real world but its chicken scratch in the NFL. If he plays up to his potential he could be looking at a Vince Wilfork like contract ($40 million over 5 years, $25 guaranteed) when his rookie deal expires.

For the record
Albert Haynsworth also failed the same or a similar test and is currently not playing with the 1st team defense. Just to put it in perspective!
